Honeymoon: Cruise or Resorts?

SierraToBeMull, on September 25, 2019 at 6:31 PM

We are getting married May 16th 2020 and want to honeymoon the next weekend (5/22/2020-?) so wondering if we should do a cruise through Royal or look up different resorts? We both haven't been out of the country so we really don't know much about anything lol Any advice will be great!

We 99% sure we are set on a Norwegian cruise from Miami and I'm so excited!! It goes to Harvest Caye, Belize and Costa Maya, Mexico!! 5 days since we've never done one before and a day before and after in Miami Smiley laugh

We're doing a cruise. So much money going towards the wedding we had to settle for a cheaper option for the honey moon

I chose a resort, mainly because it also allows us to explore the city and have dinner at a local restaurant, bike or hike, etc. But a cruise it’s fun too, however you could spend a lot more on the cruise with all the ‘additionals’ that you have to watch out for! Good luck!

Personally I am always a fan of cruising! I went on a 10 day Caribbean cruise for my honeymoon and it was amazing! We were able to relax, go to the beach, visit the spa, snorkel, see historical buildings and so much more. I feel like we got the best of all worlds and the best bang for our buck. I'd recommend using a travel agent! Give them an idea of what you're looking for or hoping for with a honeymoon and your budget and they'll be able to give you some great ideas.

We also went on a cruise for our honeymoon. We went the day after our wedding for 7 days on Royal Caribbean. I've never cruised before but I can honestly say I preferred it more than a resort. The food is amazing and I loved going to all the different ports and going shopping. I also like going on the islands and eating food from the restaurants there. We had so much fun.

It's all about preference really.... I've done both types of vacations and i much prefer cruising! I just feel like you get the best bang for your buck. You get to go to beautiful places and explore them, but you still get to relax and do fun things on the boat. You can usually stop at a few different places, not spend your time at one. I feel like cruises are much more organized too. Every day you get an itinerary of what's going on. The last all inclusive we stayed at, we had no idea when anything was happening and we actually were turned down for dinner at some restaurants because they were supposedly full.
