Honeymoon flight - did you wear your ring?

I wore my ring. Do whatever you feel is more comfortable for you!

I will be wearing a fake ring on our honeymoon (i’ve heard way too many horror stories about wearing them overseas lol) But if I were going to take my real ring, I definitely would never pack it- airlines lose things Allllllll the time! I MIGHT be willing to put it in a small carry-on bag… but even that would make me nervous.

Yes I wore my ring!!! Do NOT pack it! Airlines lose luggage all the time, it’s not going to get lost from your finger.

We wore silicone rings to our honeymoon! We left our real rings at home safe and sound!

I definitely would not trust it with an airline, or sitting alone in my room at a hotel. I’m sure we have all heard the horror stories of jewelry and money getting stolen out of hotel rooms. We went to Mexico, I actually left my rings home because they're flashy.

I am debating this as well! Our honeymoon is in America (Napa, Calistoga and San Francisco) but I’m nervous about losing it!!

Definitely don’t pack it. Wear it , or leave it at home. I’ve worn my rings on many flights (with no issues), but if I’m going on a vacation where my ring is a liability (beach vacation), I don’t take the diamond e ring with me.

Not a honeymoon, or wedding ring, but we just got back from a 10 day trip to Florida and I wore my engagement ring when flying, my fingers got a little swollen on the plane and then I wore my ring 1 day while we were there but it got so swollen because of the heat that I ended up locking it in our room safe the remainder of the trip till the day we flew home. If I did it again, I'd probably just leave my ring at home and wear a silicone ring on the trip instead.

I personally don't wear my engagement ring anymore because i find it more cumbersome compared to my wedding band which is just super slim with no embellishments on it.

i feel like if you think you're going to be doing activities that are really active then maybe it's better to leave it at home.

I bought a fake engagement ring on Amazon that I wear anytime we travel, and I’ll add a fake wedding band once we get married! The fake engagement ring looks exactly like mine, I just got it .25 bigger since I tend to swell more when traveling. I just find it less stressful to be wearing a fake one when I’m traveling- if I lose it it was only $15!

There is no need to worry about the wedding ring. You can either choose to wear it or not. The decision is totally up to your comfort.

Update - 1.5 weeks in Maui and totally fine! I did bring a fake ring but I was allergic to it and oh man it didn’t not look good. But no issues with the real ring!

Totally up to you. I'd consider where you are going and the activities you are doing. If you are traveling to a super safe, low crime area, staying in a reputable place with good security, and will be doing a lot of dinners out, you might want to wear it. But if you are going to be super active or going to an area where you'll be moving around a bunch or maybe the areas aren't as safe, I would just wear a fake ring.

When we got engaged my ring was too big, so I bought a fake ring in what I thought was the correct size and wore it around for a bit to make sure that it was a good fit before having my ring resized. I now use that ring as my backup ring, for times when I want something fancier than my silicone ring (which is what I wear on a daily basis) but would be worried about damaging or losing my real rings.

I did wear my real engagement ring on a domestic flight, but haven't traveled since we were married because of Covid. Unless we were doing something particularly fancy for our trip, I'd probably just wear my silicone ring or fake ring for most vacations.

It depends on you and where you are going to be honeymooning IMO. We honeymooned in the DR and were going to be at the beach/in the pool the whole time so we both wore silicone rings. We wear silicone rings to most of our beach vacations anyway and when I travel to 3rd world countries for work I wear a silicone one and leave my set at home. If you are going somewhere where you will be wearing it frequently and only take it off for a bit at a time (Europe, cruise, etc) then wear your set! Once again, it's what you are most comfortable with doing. I travel for a living so I wear my rings all over the US, Caribbean and Mexico on a weekly basis so I'm super comfortable with it as I'm used to doing it.
