Honeymoon for homebodies

Rachel Anne, on October 12, 2016 at 10:01 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 13

My FH and I are currently trying to pick out our honeymoon destination and it's a lot harder than I thought it would be. I'm pretty introverted and FH, although being extroverted as hell, is making a comeback from three years of being misdiagnosed and finding out he has panic disorder. Needless to say we're home a lot. We aren't the outdoorsy type, so beaches and camping are definitely out of the question. We have narrowed it down to either staying in the US or going to Canada. Any ideas are more than welcome!

Have you thought about renting a cozy cabin in the mountains? I know you're not into nature, but you would have some great views from your windows. You'd also have really nice things like a fireplace and maybe a hot tub.

Montreal, Charleston, Savannah, San Francisco, Vancouver, skiiing anywhere west, Maine around Bar Harbour (you can rent a house on one of the islands and just chill), St. Augustine, diving in the Florida Keys.

FH and I are pretty similar to your situation...We're renting a private house along the white river in Arkansas. So we get to enjoy the scenery and sights, but no "outdoorsing" required (aka running water, electricity, internet and TV).

I'll definitely have to show FH all of these great options! I'm thinking Montreal and renting house/cabin are going to be the top contenders

Rent a cabin in the mountains of Asheville. FH and I did that for our anniversary and it was perfect. We cooked meals together in the house, relaxed in hot tub, etc.

There are really nice cabins in Gatlinburg - and if you want you can wander down to town and do the touristy stuffs --- or just enjoy the cabin.

ETA - You should also check out Sedona, AZ. It is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. There are some fantastic places to stay. You can do a day trip to the Grand Canyon - I know a WONDERFUL tour guide who will pick you up at your hotel and do an entire day.

We honeymooned at a summer home in the mountains of western NC and took day trips to nearby towns. We were there when the leaves turned and it was beautiful.

We plan on going on a cruise, eating all the free food and chilling in the pools or whatever else is available. We're absolute home bodies, I'm not interested in adventure or even the destinations that the ship is going to, just us and the sea (also free food)

I think we'll probably end up in a cabin in Alaska. It's so pretty and undeveloped enough that you can enjoy nature without really venturing into it.

You guys, I had the Aristocats record when I was little and I wore that thing out! Love Marie.

Another vote for Sedona, OP. Puerto Rico is also great fun and lovely.
