You don't have to drink on your honeymoon. You are over 18 so you can travel anywhere you want as long as you have all the correct documents.

You don't have to be 21 at Disney World. FH and I were only 19 when we vacationed there a few years ago. Another option would be to travel internationally. Most places in the US require you to be 21 to rent a hotel room.

Most hotels won’t let you check into a hotel if you’re under 21, some even higher than that so I can see your frustration!! Could try for a cruise maybe!!

    I’m super confused...
Since when do you have to be over 21 to check into a hotel room?

If I remember correctly, there are several cruise lines that require you to be 21 and up to register; however, please double check me.

I agree with leaving the US if you can afford it!

Unfortunately I ran into similar difficulties when traveling under 21. If you can go out of the country, I would. Luckily it’s usually cheaper even including airfare, especially in Mexico. Definitely look into hotel policies. Lots of places will let you book but not check in if you are under 21. I found that out the hard way years ago. Granted - the experience I’m talking about was in 2012, but it’s better to be safe than sorry!

Just because a particular resort has an age restriction dies not mean the entire state/country will refuse to let you in if you are under 21. So yes they can still travel wherever she wants they may run into some hotels/resorts with age restrictions but there will be others they can stay at.

Often times when the hotel has an open bar offers alcohol in the rooms.

Wherever you look into, I would make sure you call the hotel and confirm that you can check in under 21. A lot of hotels let you book online without giving anything more than your name, address, and credit card information, but pretty much every hotel H and I have been to, you’ve needed to be 21 to check in.

There are many locations that require at least one person checking in to the hotel to be age 21 or older. My daughter had that issue when trying to find a hotel near Universal Studios in FL a few years ago.

The other thing to consider is car rental. If you need a car, there are many rental agencies that won't even permit you to rent a car until you are 26 years old. If you can find one willing to rent to you there are significant surcharges you will need to pay.

The drinking age in Puerto Rico is 18. Many people know English so I would feel confident booking through airb&b if the hotels you like give you any issues. Stay in Condado since you won’t be able to rent a car. That’s a nice beach area in a walkable neighborhood with a cool nightlife. There are group excursions to the main nature areas like the yunque, the rainforest.

Wherever you go, make sure there is great public transportation or they have reasonable pricing on taxis. To be married and on a honeymoon when you can't even legally rent a car..... ooh boy.

Actually you replied to my comment that they are not able to travel wherever they want with the proper documentation because your daughter had to have at least one person over 21 to check into a room for spring break. I never said they can check into any hotel/resort they wanted simply that they can travel anywhere they wanted as long as they have the proper documents. Nothing in my response to that comment or any other was "mean".

Weird, I had no problem booking travel before I was 21. Is it mostly resorts that are in "spring break" destinations? I've honestly never run into this, but admittedly I wouldn't have noticed once I turned 21 (and granted, most of my travel has been post-college, so maybe I was lucky).

I'd go international. Had zero issues booking hotels and travel arrangements in Italy when I was 20 and there's no need for a car. Really any major city in Europe would be a great time and likely easy, they're used to college kids traveling around on their own. My cousin has been traveling to/from Mexico City on his own regularly without issues as well, so Mexico would probably also work. Otherwise, I'd find a resort in the US/Caribbean that's fully self-contained/all-inclusive so that you don't have to worry about a car and just relax. Contact them before booking to verify that your age won't be a problem. Sometimes the age restriction also has to do with them not wanting crazy parties on their property, so telling them it's your honeymoon may also help (the only time I've noticed an age restriction is when I'm renting a house or private apartment, but can't hurt).

I went to Cancun for spring break during college before I was 21. That would be an option. Or Europe!

If you are intrested in cruising carnival allows individuals who are under 21 to cruise if they are married.
You will need to provide documentation for this route so i would speak to their booking staff.
You could also do an air bnb a lot of people are okay with individuals under 21.
