Hey there. Is there a way with wedding wire to set up a honeymoon fund if someone wants to just give cash instead of shop for a gift

You can certainly do one elsewhere and just link it to your WeddingWire site

People old enough to give you money are able to figure out that they can give you cash, or a check. Honeymoon sites charge 5 -8 % Of the money. Why not get it all? No middleman. If you do decide on a honeymoon fund, read the fine print carefully. Some say they only take 3-5% of every gift, but charge up to 5% more when they give you your check. Find out the total fee.
And, some will give you all collected in the fund 1-2 weeks before your wedding, then give you any more that comes in a month after your wedding. But some say, we collect up to a month or 6 weeks after the wedding, and do not point out, and you get one of your money til 4-6 weeks after. Which means you pay your honeymoon up front, and hope for enough to repay yourselves. Also beware of some that misrepresent the gifts. They set prices of things a person could do, but present it a a gift, you are buying 10 hours of scuba instruction, a deep sea fishing trip, 3 side trips to surfing beaches, and a museum tour. But all you are getting is a chunk of money to use however you want. People later ask about this or that, and feel really lied to that they thought they were buying you the experience described. It makes them angry. Choose the right fund.

I recommend not doing an online fund. They charge a percentage for their service. My sister did one for her wedding, but most people ended up just giving cash or check.

    Hi,

I am unsure of if there is a way to attach it but I just copy and paste the link from our honeyfund account into the registry section of my website. Hope this helps.

I have a honeymoon fund through wanderable. They do have a 3% or less fee but it was better than other sites and I didn't get charged when I received a check. But I also made a note to our guests that cash and checks given to us at the wedding was acceptable if they didn't want to incur any fees. I set mine up for different activities like horseback riding, massages, and dinners so they people know what the money is going towards.

    Hello Dawn!

WeddingWire does not have a cash fund that you can create through our company but you can create a cash fund through a different company and hyperlink it to your wedding website.

You can do that by locating the registry page by clicking on the wedding website button under planning tools

Then click on the registry tab at the top of the page

Hover over the section that says our registry and click inside of the box. This should bring you to the notes section on your registry page and you can hyperlink your registry here.

To create a clickable link please look for the link icon next to the bold and italics icon under the notes section.

    Hope this helps!
