Las Vegas (hear me out):
-Slightly cooler time of year
-Can get airline tickets and hotel reservations are pretty cheap if you plan early and book now.
-Plenty of things to do both in the city and in the outskirts (kayaking, trails, etc).
-Vegas is built on building client relationships, and will want to help create a memorable honeymoon for you.
-A foodie destination (Top of the World restaurant at the Stratosphere is a must during sunset- make your reservations).
-Within driving distance of California, Utah, and Arizona, as well as other parts of the state.
-Cocktail attire is super fancy for Vegas.

Charleston, South Carolina
-Beautiful, historic city.
-Very romantic
-Foodie destination
-Can potentially hire a charter boat
-Carriage rides in the city
-Driving distance to Savannah, Georgia

Denver, Colorado
-Beautiful natural sights and outdoorsy.
-Foodie destination, and has breweries and distilleries
(Do prepare for temp. fluctuations)

I would suggest you Asheville, North Carolina: Known for its beautiful mountain scenery, Asheville offers a romantic getaway with opportunities for hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains, exploring the vibrant downtown, and visiting the Biltmore Estate.

I'll suggest Asheville, NC for mountain vibes, or maybe the Florida Keys for some sun and beach time. Both can be awesome in mid-September.
