Honeymoon Ideas!

Emily, on February 21, 2021 at 11:14 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 5
We are having such a hard finding where to go for our honeymoon and could use some much needed insight! Leaving the country seems to be out of the question. My fiancé wanted to go somewhere in the New England area, especially New Jersey but when I try to search for places to stay, I am now getting notifications that NJ and it’s surrounding states are highly discouraging outside travelers. Any ideas on where we can safely go without having to jump through hoops?
Tia.

Things may shift as the vaccine becomes more readily available, but yes, NJ is requiring travelers to quarantine. We got hit hard last year, and our numbers are still pretty high now. What kinds of things are you hoping to do while on your honeymoon? This may give us a better idea for suggestions. Also, just as an aside, NJ is technically not part of New England. Connecticut is the most southern state still considered part of New England (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine).

I recommend an area with very little population, such as Wyoming

New England is super locked down. When are you planning on traveling? Honestly I wouldn't come to this area now or anytime soon because there's not a lot to do with the restrictions still in place! I live in an area of CT that people travel from elsewhere to visit, but I wouldn't recommend anyone come here now.

Yeah, not too much going on in New England right now, and you're technically supposed to be quarantining if you visit (hopefully this summer will start opening back up though). Also New England is pretty massive on it's own. Are you thinking of the beach, islands, mountains, lakes, Boston? You can't really do it all in one trip. And like others have said, New Jersey is not part of New England. It's a 6+ hour drive away depending on where you are.

Yeah, NJ is not New England, we're mid-Atlantic.

As Hannah said, we have some of the strictest rules because we got hit when NY did, and just as hard... without the media attention.

On the flip side, the governor wants 70% of the population vaccinated by June, so... things may change. The Jersey Shore is nothing like the TV show (please, don't mention it to us, *one* person on that show was actually from NJ), but we've also got the foothills of the Poconos, major cities, access to Philly and NYC, lakes, forests, historical sites...

Could you do a minimoon by you and then come visit us later?
