Honeymoon in Gatlinburg/pigeon forge?

Alisha, on October 1, 2020 at 12:27 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 8
Looking to stay 2 nights/3days. If you have honeymooned there did you choose hotel or cabin and why? What attractions did you visit or do you reccomend? How much money did you end up spending?

Haven’t and not honeymooning there, but we’ve rented cabins and have gone hiking and shopping in Pigeon Forge many times over the years. It’s fun.

I went there for a university retreat. We stayed in a cabin because it was cheaper. For attractions, we went to the outlet mall and did go karts.

This is the cabin we stayed in and we LOVED it. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/31510749?source_impression_id=p3_1601551628_IxvicetRjm3lLGlp

Our favorite things to do in Gatlinburg are the skylift and the skybridge, tastings at the moonshine/whiskey distilleries, and renting RZRs. As far as dining, Cherokee Grill and Crockett's Breakfast Camp are amazing. We went for 4 days/3 nights and probably spent around $1500, however, we went the week of Thanksgiving so things are more expensive. Cabins are much more affordable outside of the holidays.

Didn't go for our honeymoon, but I recommend a cabin for the privacy. Gatlinburg is fun to walk through and shop or browse - be sure to have pancakes lol

Didn't go for our honeymoon, but the Titanic attraction is fantastic especially if your interested in that and/or are into history.

Mini golf and go carts are a popular attraction and there are many different courses. Downtown Gatlinburg is super cute and great for shopping or just strolling and enjoying the day. (Love the homemade Taffy at the candy shop!)

There is also Ripley's and the Aquarium in Gatlinburg and Wonder Works and Dollywood in Pigeon Forge.

The Cherokee reservation is a short drive I believe, it's been years since I've gone there so I can't remember.

We will be doing our honeymoon there in a few weeks since we cancelled our trip to Mexico. We got a cabin for privacy and to just enjoy the whole mountain scene since we’re from Florida. We’ve been there before when we first got engaged, but the Smoky Mountains are absolutely gorgeous to see and its’s fun hike to all the waterfalls. We got our cabin for $1000 for 6 days and hired a chef to come cook for us as something romantic to do. We will also be taking a drive to Asheville as well for a day and scheduled a romantic couples massage! I can’t wait to relax and enjoy a week with my husband!

We are doing a “pre-wedding bash” where all of the bridesmaids and groomsmen rented a cabin and we are staying a weekend (instead of Bachelorette/Bachelor trip) and we are staying for the honeymoon. We always rent cabins when we stay for the privacy, and it’s more romantic (Hot tub, scenery, etc). Lots of shops, tourist activities, hiking, restaurants, mini golf. There is so much to do, and if you want to save money we do all of the cooking at the cabin.
