@Kayla YES we absolutely loved it!!! Service was excellent all over the resort. For example, When we first arrived, we were greeted with champagne and a cool towel. Another example, when you go to the breakfast buffet they actually pull out your chair for you and put your napkin in your lap --at the buffet!! haha. We felt treated like royalty! No pressure to tip extra which we have felt at other resorts we've vacationed at. Everyone spoke pretty good English and was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean, very modern, very cool. Resort was gorgeous. Keep in mind that the beaches on the Yucatan Peninsula aren't as good for swimming... there's a lot of coral and seaweed. But great for snorkeling, for those reasons! The resort has like 7 pools so that wasn't an issue for us. We upgraded to a swim-up suite so we had direct access to a nearly private pool, so I highly recommend that! However, we never had an issue finding chairs at the pool or beach like I have heard can be an issue at some resorts. Food was excellent, and we loved that we didn't have to make reservations for any of the restaurants like at other resorts we've been to (and we almost never waited for a table, maybe 10 minutes). The breakfast and lunch buffet options were incredible! There are like 8 restaurants too, so we ate dinner at a different place each day of the week! They had day time snack and lunch options out by the pool so you didn't have to come in and get dressed to get lunch, which was great. The entertainment was also really good! I like to relax but DH likes to be on the go. They had different activities literally all day, like beach yoga in the morning, pool and beach volleyball, darts, bike tours of the resort, kayaking, etc., they had demonstrations like tequila tastings, cocktail making lessons, cooking demonstrations, etc. all included in the cost. There was live music at different parts of the evening (cocktail hour, dinner time, then late night) and nightly shows that we really liked. But there were also quiet and private parts of the resort too and the place definitely quieted down in the evening. Like I said, we absolutely loved this place!! Secrets definitely knows what they are doing.

We did the half day to Tulum and a full day at Xel-ha. We were really happy that we did it that way, instead of a half day at Talum and half day at Xel-ha which was also an option. Xel-ha is SO fun and if you decide to go, you definitely want to enjoy it all day!! Tulum is just amazing to see and we also did some souvenir shopping there. When we vacation, we like to make sure we go see historical/cultural sites while we are there. These excursions are about an hour from the resort (the resort is super close to the airport, less than 10 minutes) so that is a trade-off but we were happy to be closer to the airport.

@AnnaKay511 Thanks so much for all the details! It sounds amazing and we will definitely look into it. Secrets is at the top of our list for resorts. We talked about going to Xel-ha because it looks so cool and fun! I'm glad you had such an amazing experience!

When everyone is saying Adult Only is this to mean Hedonism? Also @Chanelle where did you find flights and all inclusive for $2000 in Costa Rica because thats where we would like to go. (Was this per person? or per couple?) Any information would be appreciated.

We are going to Secrets Playa Mujeres! I saw someone also mentioned Secrets Silversands. Both are absolutely amazing looking and we can't wait. Definitely worth looking into. I think 8 days for us is $3600 at Secrets Playa Mujeres in an oceanview room

We're going to Sandals Regency La Toc in St. Lucia!!! Depending on where you're flying from, it would EASILY be under $4000 with flights. We chose a higher room category and it's still going to be under 4k for 5 nights. And you're not allowed to tip at Sandals, so you don't even need to budget for that.

We went to Playa del Carmen (Mexico) for 6 nights, all inclusive was $2400 for both of us.

Playa, Tulum, DR and PR would all have all inclusives that fit your budget.
