Hubby and I will take a short honeymoon downtown Srq at the end of Feb and I need a few activities. Favorite restaurants (that aren't overpriced), dinner theater, beach activities, etc.? As fun as it will be to veg out on the beach and at the pool all day, I will certainly need a little adventure to get into.

For a different kind of fun beach day, you can head south - about 35 minutes for downtown - and hunt for shark teeth at Manasota Beach. https://www.scgov.net/Home/Components/FacilityDirectory/FacilityDirectory/564/4318
Just remember, you are coming to Sarasota in the HEIGHT of "Snowbird Season". You will definitely need reservations for any nice restaurant, and the beaches may be more crowded than normal. ALSO there is major construction on the main 'drag' - Rt. 41 also known as Tamiami Trail. Watch out for detours! Our 2 main beaches are Lido Beach, which is closest to downtown area, and Siesta Key Beach (voted #1 beach in USA)
AND, if you head to Lido Beach, throw a "hiya" wave at the traffic light at Bird Key Drive .... down that was is where WE will be getting married in 2023!!! <grin>
