Honeymoon in Texas

Liz, on May 29, 2019 at 5:14 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 9
So my FH and I decided to do a local get away, something small since we're saving up for a house. We live in Houston so we were thinking Austin or Dallas. I suck at researching these things! We would be honeymooning in early Nov. ..any romantic/ adventurous suggestions?

    Hey Liz!

I think it’s a great idea to do a more local honeymoon, you will have the best time together no matter where you are!

Have you been to Dallas or Austin before? It might be exciting to go somewhere neither of you has been to before so you can experience it for the first time together.

There are so many great travel sites for helping research your vacation like Lonely Planet and Trip Advisor, you could also just search for ‘Dallas/Austin Travel Blogs’ and you will get so many different peoples perspectives and opinions! I love researching for vacation!

What type of honeymoon are you hoping to have?

Drive out to the gulf of Mexico! We're doing an AirBnB on Florida's side of the Gulf and it's turning out to be very affordable. Also focusing on buying a house so definitely feel you on saving. If you're not into the beach maybe head out to New Orleans?

I don’t know much about Texas and I know you are looking for Dallas area, but have you thought about a short cruise out of Galveston? Cruises are always a good time.

Texas Hill Country! Yall could stay in a B&B, go to wineries, eat some amazing food, and make a short drive to Austin Smiley smile

Yes something like Wimberly would be fun – go to Jacob’s Well, Hamilton Pool, wineries, pie stores, float the river. And then 2 days in Austin doing nightlife stuff, hiking the trails, stand up paddle boarding (might be cold then though), explore the city 🌃

I use Trip Advisor for everything. You can scope out places to stay, things to do, and where to eat. I've heard Austin is great for a funky, modern vibe.

I stayed at the Ocean Village Hotel in Surfside Beach, TX a few years back and loved it. It's not far from you.

I also enjoyed the Stock Yards at Ft. Worth and the AT&T Stadium tour in Arlington.

I have always wondered where to go in Texas. I am from a small town of West Texas named Lubbock. I lived in Houston 12 years tho. Now I am back in Lubbock. I myself, can't think of anywhere. Maybe even San Antonio- go stay on the River Walk.... That in itself could be quite romantic

As someone who just moved to Houston from the Dallas area I highly recommend the Spa Castle Hotel they have a lazy river type pool going throughout the hotel with a bar along side it as well as a sauna and so much more! 10/10 recommend for a nice getaway and you could always go do something adventurous during the day
