Honeymoon in the us Virgin Islands

Indya, on February 15, 2021 at 7:26 AM Posted in Honeymoon 2 7
What’s the best hotel for a honeymoon in the US Virgin Islands? I have it narrowed down to Marriot’s Frenchman’s Cove, Gallows Point and The Buccaneer. Anything else? It also doesn’t matter which island we stay on because we plan to visit the other 2.

My uncle does business in the US Virginia Islands and whenever he travels there, he stays at Marriot Frenchman's Cove. I've never been, but he has stayed there tons of times, so I'm assuming it's very nice.

I have only ever heard about Marriot Frenchman's Cove, and nothing but good things regarding it.

This will depend on what you want out of your honeymoon. I do recommend picking the island you prefer to stay on. And note that while St Thomas and St John are very close and easy to pass between, St Croix isn’t really an easy day trip from either — if you’re staying a week or less, I would either spend all the time on St Croix,
Or all your time on St Thomas&St John.

I have only ever stayed on St John (and only ever in a private rental home), but I go every year. St John is a very “do it yourself” island which is to say all the best beaches you’ll have to drive or taxi to, and it’s not really a walk out of your hotel and sit in loungers on the beach and have cocktails brought to you destination (there are beaches with services but very few beach front accommodations). Gallows Point is nice for it’s convenient location (walkable to shops and restaurants in Cruz Bay), but it’s important to know it doesn’t actually have a real beach— there is water access for snorkeling but it is rocky access. It’s a lovely property but not what I think of when I think of “resort” — but that’s all relative to what you are looking for ! My understanding is that Frenchman’s and the Bucc have a bit more of that resort-y vibe (though I have no experience with either so don’t know what that entails, just think they’re set up more like compound with pool + beach + restaurants— which is to say you can spend some serious time there, versus Gallows you’d probably want to spend most of your days seeking out other STJ beaches) I will say that the upstairs bar area at the restaurant at Gallows has one of the best sunset views on the island !
The amount of time you’ll have and what you want to do will better inform where you’ll want to stay, as well as if you want to rent a car or don’t want to at all! If you don’t want to rent a car, I wouldn’t recommend STJ has a home base, but it would still make a great day trip or two from STT

I’m looking at The Buccaneer as well, but I really would love to find an all-inclusive.
