Honeymoon... Is this so lame?

As much as my FH and I would love to do Hawaii, we're already having trouble finding funds for our own wedding so as an alternative honeymoon I was considering spending a week in San Diego since we love it so much.. Any other brides out there do non-exotic honeymoons?

We're having a DW in Colorado, so we'll be spending our honeymoon there. If you're still looking into Hawaii, there's this awesome place in Kona call Koa Wood Hale Inn. It's a hostel, kind of, but it's actually an apartment complex. Last time I went I paid $60 a night and we had a 2 bedroom apartment (including kitchen) to ourselves! I know hostels aren't so popular these days, but it is far from the dorm style living that most hotels offer. Look into it! I've sworn up and down that I'll never stay anywhere else on the island!

This is the view out the front door...

We aren't really beach people and didn't want to drop three grand on a honeymoom. We are going to the Smokey Mountains and renting a secluded cabin for a week. It will give us time to relax and there are tons of activities to do around there.

We're doing Disneyland (like Victoria!) and then going to Hawaii this summer hopefully. We also want to take a trip to my native Chile later this year or next summer.

Yes. it sucks that we're tight on money AND time right now, so going on a small fun trip doesn't take away from the fact that I'll be spending those special days with my HUSBAND Smiley smile

The honeymoon is over-rated. It puts pressure on the couple financially. Having the wedding the way you want is more important. Just being alone together is what is important. Cherish what you are able to do and don't worry about what you don't have.....have fun Smiley smileSmiley smileSmiley smile
