Honeymoon issues due to coronavirus

Chloe, on March 12, 2020 at 6:25 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 14
I was wondering if any other brides out there are devastated because their honeymoon has been ruined due to COVID-19 (Corona virus) restrictions. Our honeymoon has ruined twice now. We are getting married March 14...in 2 days and I feel lucky that we were even able to get to our venue in Ga. Our backup honeymoon is Disney, but I'm wondering if that will even last. We were supposed to leave for the honeymoon om 16 of March, two days after the wedding. I can't even get my PTO or 2 weeks off back at work. I really just don't know what to do or think.

Aw I’m sorry to hear. Can you still go on your honeymoon but do different activities instead?

I was supposed to honeymoon in Paris and Rome from April 7-17. We are in the process of trying to cancel all our flights and hotels now. 😭

Ugh I'm so sorry. We're scheduled for Hawaii in April, but we may end up having to cancel. It really seems like there's no other option. I feel for everyone right now. All of our plans are being cancelled for things outside of our control.

We will be cancelling our cruise. I booked a refundable resort in the Keys we can drive to from the wedding location instead.

I would recommend a backup instead of Disney since Disneyland just closed.

I was suppose to have wedding same day but we had to postpone due to closings and she can’t fly back since airport is closed by her until at least April 16. So it’s been fun trying to contact everyone and thing about it. Since found out at 11 pm Wednesday My family and friends keep bugging me that they wish do something on the 14 so I don’t think of it but to be honest I still can’t believe it

Disneyworld just announced they are closed until the end of the month. Might be best to try and wait until this does down then have a delayed honeymoon if you can. Hope everything works out!

I feel for all of you😭 For now we decided on a nice bed and breakfast in Savannah, GA. We are going to try to do a mini moon here, hopefully return to work (we're in the medical field), id we can, and try again with Europe in a few months, if we can get the time off. I just feel lucky I was able to have my wedding at this point.

We got married on March 14 and postponed our London honeymoon. I was really sad but I know there are couples who had to postponed their weddings. We would have left March 18th for London. We have a travel credit from Expedia which expires in one year. We are thinking of going to Hawaii in May since that is my next time off and even that is cutting it close. I know United is flexible with their reservations if you book by March 31 and you can change one time without fees. We considered Disney World also but who knows when they will open by May. Let’s all hope things will get better.
