Honeymoon items...no electronics?

Deborah, on June 25, 2013 at 11:30 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 31

I asked FH if he was taking his Xbox on our honeymoon. His reply was "Of course not!" mine was...."oh, well, why not?" I'm taking my laptop, I don't expect to be under/on him (over him...etc. haha) ALL the time....we'll have to break for breaks...so yeah, I kinda want him to take it so we can play Skyrim! He just laughed and said he'd take it if I was ok with it Smiley laugh

We've got some other stuff lined up, but...I'm not giving up my electronics. Anyone else? Just wondering; maybe I'm being weird Smiley tongue

@Gypsy: Like 90% of hotels have gaming hook ups now ;D

@Tom: Stuck.on.SKYRIM! We played Black Ops out Smiley laugh

@Laudie: I can understand being long distance = no system; FH and I live together. Gaming is a bi-weekly weekend ritual for us. lol.

I brought my laptop but we were in the mountains so even though we had wifi, it was spotty. We didn't really text/call anyone either.

We weren't in bed the whole time, but it was really nice to be just together and away from Facebook and email and people calling and texting us all the time.

We will have our phones but we wont be taking laptops or xbox or anything like that. We have a lot of stuff planned, and I think it will be nice to be without those things for a few days.

I think we're both going to take our laptops...but the amount of stuff we have planned I doubt there'll be much time.

@Alysa, MrsG...etc....How much stuff do yall have planned?

We've got a week. We've got like one thing a day to do. That's it. Other than that I want to relax by the pool with a margarita - we never get to do that. FH and I had the convo about what "vacation" means, too. He thinks it's being busy going and seeing stuff...I think it's about chillin' by the pool/on the beach.

We are doing a cruise. And neither of us have been on one before. But we have a lot of excursions planned and there is a lot of stuff to do on the ship. And I plan on relaxing by the pool for much of the downtime too. There will be time to just hang out, but I know if I bring the Xbox and computer we will more likely spend time in our room. And I'd rather not do that. I'd rather do something more exciting since we don't get to vacation alot.

I agree with Alysa. We only get a week, and we will be in a town famous for its history and museums, i want to go and see all of the parks and wildlife and theaters and whatnot, i dont want to be stuck in our room the whole time, attempting to kill dragons on Skyrim. And once we reach the beach, i intend to be on the beach, not in the hotel room. Too much to do, too little time to do it in. Xbox will stay firmly planted on the TV stand while we are vacationing. Laptop, im taking. I need to stay in touch with people, and of course i will need to make my "back and married" post, wont I? LOL. Cell phones we are taking. The rest can stay here.

We'll bring a laptop and my kindle at least. We'll be gone for 2 weeks and can't use our cells outside of the country so that will be our only way to check in and since we'll be driving across much of New Zealand it will be good to get online to check out places to see and check maps. No gaming though!

We're bringing my cell phone and an ipad. That's it. We're purposely going for a no work or outside communication.

For the cruise we're taking no electronics except the camera and my small netbook to download the photos onto in case the card fills up.

The second half of the honeymoon is a staycation so I imagine we'll spend some time playing video games together hehehe.

I assume we'll take what we normally take on vacation, which is basically just smartphones. We might or might not take a laptop, but honestly, I think we won't.

We'll have one phone, most likely a laptop, and probably the 3ds so my FI can play games on the way back from Belgium and maybe my Kindle.

We both had our laptops with us, sometimes in the evening we would just unwind on them, check some emails. It was nice and we still had an amazing time.

Phones and iPad. And the iPad will only be used on the plane. We don't play video games but if we did I would not waste my honeymoon or any other vacation playing them. I intend to do and see as much as possible. That's just me though.

Only cell phones! We're only going to a local bed & breakfast for a few days so we don't need them.
