Honeymoon items...no electronics?

I asked FH if he was taking his Xbox on our honeymoon. His reply was "Of course not!" mine was...."oh, well, why not?" I'm taking my laptop, I don't expect to be under/on him (over him...etc. haha) ALL the time....we'll have to break for breaks...so yeah, I kinda want him to take it so we can play...

He just laughed and said he'd take it if I was ok with it Smiley laugh

We've got some other stuff lined up, but...I'm not giving up my electronics. Anyone else? Just wondering; maybe I'm being weird Smiley tongue

We're having an unplugged honeymoon. Our cell phones will be locked in the safe for the entire trip. We'll send an email to our parents when we arrive letting them know we made it, but that's it. The digital camera will come along of course, but we won't share any pictures until we get back, if at all.

FH and I are techies, but we unplug for our weekend getaways sometimes. It's fun sometimes playing 20th century.

I wish we could go without them. We don't play games or anything. But we both are work junkies, its bad. So I am sure I will have my work laptop he will have his and we will be answering work calls and emails. I would love to leave them at home but would hate to see work emails and catch up I would to do when I got back. We won't be working all day just catch up before bedtime.

Haha thanks Tom. This will be FH and my first true vacation together, and I want to enjoy every minute of it! I'm not spending $4K on our dream honeymoon to sit in my room and stare at a screen ;-)

We have no intention of wasting our time on our honeymoon/vacation on video games or FB or anything like that. I can do that at home so we want to take full advantage of our time together and away.

We obviously brought our phones, and I brought my iPad for the plane, but we locked them up in the safe when we got there and didn't turn them back on until we left. It was so nice to be cut off from the entire world and just relax and do whatever we wanted for a week..........I would highly recommend no electronics, there are plenty of other activities you could be doing if you know what I mean Smiley winking

But if your a gamer and that is what you love to do...go for it I guess!

I have been debating on this. I'm addicted to my tablet but more like a few minutes here and there. He is addicted to his phone and TV. I hate TV. So I'm gonna try for a compromise. Give me part of the day with NO electronics and I will give him part of the day with them. Or maybe we will do "breaks" where we can look at our phone/laptop/etc. I just know I don't want to be watching that stupid TV on our honeymoon.

We had an almost unplugged honeymoon and it was GREAT. i am obsessed with my iphone and so is my husband. he also LOVES his xbox. we brought the phones (obviously) and the ipad for movies on the plane, but once we took off from Miami we put our phones on airplane mode and they stayed that way for 8 days. the ipad never left the hotel safe. we could have paid some ridiculous fee for wifi or to borrow a laptop but i just didn't feel the need. if anyone needed to reach me for an emergency, they had the resort info. and i didn't actually miss my phone at all! the only reason i carried it at the resort was to use the camera and to use it to check the time.

Lol. I guess me and FH are too involved in our electronics! Idk; like I said before: we have about one thing a day; my plan is to sit by the pool/lake and hang with FH. After the day is over, and "other activities" have been done Smiley winking I think we'll game for a bit. Lol. I don't think I could ever be unplugged completely.

Very cool to see what everyone else is doing for HM Smiley smile
