Honeymoon must haves?

Private User, on October 7, 2014 at 10:02 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 17

I am starting to look in my closet to see what I can bring on my honeymoon/what I need to go out and get!

What are some items you are bringing with you?

What are items you brought with you but never used?

What did you bring and were SO HAPPY you had it?

If you're going to an A/I, bring an insulated mug. That way you get a huge drink that stays cold when you're chillin' on the beach.

If you're going somewhere beachy/sunny bring a wide-brimmed hat. I never have worn one in normal life but wore it almost every day on our Maui HM. Aloe in case of sun burn (we had to buy more, hubby got too much sun one day), BYO snorkel mask if that is available and interests you. A digital camera so you're not attached to your phone. I brought but didn't use a cardigan sweater for cool evenings - it was warmer than anticipated, no complaints here! I brought a few too many dresses - but other than that used about everything I brought.

We went to Lake Tahoe and had to pack three big suitcases because there was a 30 degree difference between day and night.

I was SO GLAD I packed a wide brimmed hat, a baseball cap, and my jean jacket.

Packing for that trip was a trip! Spaghetti strap sundresses and sandals for day, down vests, Toms, and jeans for night!

Definitely bring a brimmed hat for a warm and sunny place! And I second the snorkel mask if you want to try it (it's super fun!!!). Always bring sunscreen and bug spray!

I always like to bring a few plastic bags - they randomly come in handy, like when your bathing suit is still wet and you have to pack to come home, etc.

We are going to St. Lucia - so it will be warm and tropical! I actually do have 2 sets of snorkel equipment! I did not even think to bring that!!!! A hat is a good idea, I may have to buy one or borrow my FSILs hat!

Plastic bags! that is an interesting one. I will have to do that!!!!! I HATE when i have to put wet items in my suitcase and then everything smells!

I always bring an old sheet to use as a beach blanket when we go somewhere tropical...I like super long towels when I lay on the beach or use the chairs and not every hotel has them. This way I'm covered or can use to actually lay in the sand when I want to .

Bring a lot of sun screen. My husband and I went to Negril, Jamaica for 8 days and I brought 7 spray cans of sun screen (we are both fair skinned). We only used 6 but to buy one at the resort was $30!!

We also brought 24 oz Tervis cups. Those were amazing and kept our drinks cold!

I over-packed (as I usually do). I could have survived with only bringing swim suits, a cover up, sunglasses, a big hat as others have suggested, flip flops, a nice pair of sandals for fancy restaurants at the resort, maxi dresses, my contacts and glasses. I wish I didn't bring any full size toiletries as they were provided at the resort.

My brain was going to a more forum inappropriate side for this. If you're planning on getting busy a lot during your honeymoon, remember to bring the stuff you need/want for that. Smiley smile

Regarding general packing, I agree, tons of plastic bags, sunscreen, a sweater or jacket, headphones for the plane. Chargers for everything you own, including electric toothbrush if you're bringing it, and a plug adapter if necessary.

    -dresses

Smiley smile I have wanted to start packing already...

Sounds unromantic but we ended up buying a deck of cards. We were in a non-English speaking country so we had no TV to watch at night! There are only so many hours in the day that you can...ahem...occupy yourselves.

Ok this might sound silly but I always bring a couple of hangers that have the clips on either end...not sure what you call them. Maybe pant hangers? Not sure.

Anyway, once I'm done with my bathing suit for the day & rince it out I want to be able to hang it up to dry. Sometimes the hangers in the closet are the type you can't remove. If you hang them wet in the closet the floor gets all wet!! So I have my own to hang on the shower rod.

    Have fun!!
