Honeymoon options: Punta Cana, Cancun or Jamaica

Hello y’all. We are planning to do our honeymoon in December this year and we’re deciding between 3 locations. We’ve never been to any of these locations so, I would like to know y’all advice or recommendations. Our idea for our honeymoon is staying in a sunny tropical place, on the beach with a cocktail but still be able to be adventurous and go on excursions and tours (learn about the culture) outside of the resort. We would prefer to be in a adult only all inclusive resort. My travel agent says Cancun would be cheaper and we could get more for our money but my husband and I like the culture of Jamaica and the activities however it’ll be the most expensive option. And I think Cancun and Punta Cana are very similar but Cancun still ends up cheaper. Please let me know y’all’s experience in these locations if you’ve been and what location y’all would prefer out of the others.

    Out of these places I’ve only been to Cancun, but it was amazing! We went cenote diving, swam with whale sharks, went for a cruise, and just all around had a great time. The Yucatán is full of rich culture and history. It was more of a lounge-and-relax vacation for us than an immerse-in-culture experience but I highly recommend it!

    I’ve been to all three, and you really can’t go wrong! My fiancé and I went to Punta Cana on our first ever vacation together and had an absolute blast. We stayed at the Majestic, the beaches were beautiful, went on a few cool excursions but mostly just relaxed and had a really great time. I loved Jamaica too, my only two complaints are we had a long drive from their airport to where we were staying in Montego Bay (about 1.5 hours if I remember correctly). There was also an extremely long line to even leave the airport and start our vacation but once we got past those two things, we had so much fun. Best of luck to you!

    I’ve been to all three and my favorite is Jamaica (probably because that’s where my family is from) but honestly you can’t go wrong with any of those choices. All the excursions are basically the same except for the Pyramids in Mexico. So if that is something that you definitely wanted to see then I’d go with Mexico. If not, I’d go with the cheapest option as the food, nightlife, sight seeing, excursions and beaches are all great and offer almost all the same options. I would suggest you purchase your excursions through Expedia prior to your trip because it works out cheaper.

    I've been to all 3. I didn't love punta Cana.

    Cancun and Jamaica on the other hand are awesome. You can't go wrong with either. The culture and vibe in Jamaica is unmatched. Cancun is just as beautiful and cheaper/easier to get to.

    For a honeymoon if you're willing to splurge I'd say Jamaica. Lots of beautiful brown people, reggae, rum... can't go wrong with that!
