Honeymoon- Punta Cana

My honeymoon is also booked for Punta Cana. In my opinion, what's happening there can and does happen anywhere. Just be vigilant and aware of your surroundings. I plan on enjoying it and relaxing with a nice drink 😎

Excellence resorts are amazing and my family loves them. FH and I booked our honeymoon at the Excellence in Jamaica.

A. As another poster said, what has happened can literally happen anywhere, even in the US. B. Technically, the recent deaths have all been at a resort in La Romana, which is close to Punta Cana but not technically the same region. I've been to Punta Cana multiple times over the years and have never had problems. We are going to Excellence El Carmen for our honeymoon next month. Just be cautious as you would anywhere, and you should be fine. The deaths are awful, but statistically, with the amount of resorts and people vacationing there every day, unfortunately, things like this are a possibility.

We booked ours at the Excellence Punta Cana as well for next April. As people said before try not to worry about it - it definitely can happen anywhere. As a place that relies so heavily on tourism I would hope that they would try to resolve any issues quickly to avoid further bad press that’s going to further hurt their country. Just be safe and vigilant like you would anywhere else!

We had also originally booked ours in Punta Cana. However, thank god for travel insurance- we just canceled it.

My issue with going is that because I am aware of all th stuff going on over there, I won’t be able to fully relax.

We did call and speak to someone at our facility and they advised that they have increased security to insure the safety of their visitors.
