Honeymoon Registries

Mandi, on January 6, 2020 at 9:44 AM Posted in Registry 0 6
Let me preface with the fact that I'm not really a huge fan of honeymoon registries.

But my fiance started putting one together about a month ago, and he's so excited about it. [Not excited enough to finish it and send it to me so I can put it on our wedding website or look at it myself...]
My idea would be to just limit the number of things we are registered for. And we have a couple gift cards on there, just in case. Because Disney and Lowe's gift cards are highly welcomed and appreciated. [I type this as I'm within sight of the 3 doors I plan to replace.]But it's his wedding too, so I'm trying to make sure he's enjoying things too.So I'm trying to look at it as maybe guests will enjoy seeing some of the fun things we have planned for our honeymoon? But does anyone really care that we want to rent bikes, or a jet ski, or have dinner with Snow White, 2 of the 7 dwarfs, and the Evil Queen, or breakfast with Rapunzel, make a lightsaber, or spend an evening with Disney Villians?I'm going to let him do it... if he finishes. I'm just very reluctant and trying to talk it up to myself.

I think it’s fine to do that! We had a honeymoon registry where we registered for specific honeymoon activities. People literally started buying ALL OF THEM right away... so quickly that we actually ended up putting up more. Several people also remarked to us that they loved the idea and much preferred to buy us “an experience” rather than a kitchen appliance lol. We also sent them photos of ourselves doing the experience that they paid for so they knew we did it and thought of them and appreciated it.

I'm doing a honeymoon fund as well, I see them at more than half of the weddings I attend nowadays. As a guest, I love being able to contribute to experiences for someone's honeymoon and I know a lot of my friends do as well. It's obviously a know-your-circle thing but I think it can go over very well with people. And it sounds like you have a traditional gift registry as well(?) so people who don't like honeyfunds or prefer not to give cash will still have other gift options. You can also aim to send your guests pictures of the experience they contributed to (pics of you jet-skiing, pics of you having dinner with Snow White, etc.) inside of your thank you notes, so that they can see you enjoying the activity they paid for.

I had a honeymoon registry where I broke it down to activities too and people were way more inclined to buy the activities than to just generally donate to the fund.

Which honeymoon registries do you all use? I know some of them take a LOT of money off the top and others are more reasonable.

I do! Make a collage and have people put there ideas in a container or words of wisdom for your trip favorite things they did how they saved $ to do more etc or maybe some other way to tie into your website or registry.

We are using Disney Honeymoon registry. There is a fee. But I can't see what when I'm not logged in.
