Honeymoon Registry: Advice needed

Katie, on November 27, 2019 at 2:16 PM Posted in Registry 0 6

Did anyone do a honeymoon registry? How should I go about it? What did you use? Anything we should look out for (hidden fees)? Any info or advice would be SUPER helpful! We also plan to register for other things too. Did you all as well in addition to a honeymoon registry?

I did a honeymoon registry along with other items for people to buy! I used Zola and instead of just asking for money for the honeymoon, I also have it broken down by activities we'd like to do, that way people might feel better about giving money if they know it's going towards something.

We didn't do a honeymoon registry. There were some things we wanted from a traditional registry. So, we registered at Bed Bath and Beyond, and Amazon. We have those linked to our WeddingWire website. On that same page, we stated that we also have a honeymoon fund and anyone who would like to contribute can make a check out to (fiance's name) and mail to this address. That way we still let people know we have the honeymoon fund, but without actually registering for it and being subject to fees.

We had several registries. We registered with Zola for the cash / trip / other option . Yes there is a fee with any site that lets you take money on the registry. We were happy with zola

Yes, there are hidden fees. And a honeymoon registry is totally unnecessary. If you don't register at all, people will give you cash or checks--and no administrative fees will apply.

We used Honeyfund. No hidden fees, the percentage they take is tiny (2%) compared to the convenience for you & guests. We linked from Honeyfund to a few small retail registries because I read some guests will only give physical gifts. Worked great!

I did Zola. I noticed people were more inclined to buy us the activities than give us general funds towards it. There's a small 2-3% fee depending on which site you use. Also, I would say the amount of guests using it vs the ones that just gave me cash or checks is low. Most people prefer giving it to you directly
