Honeymoon Registry

Courtney, on May 31, 2019 at 1:44 PM Posted in Honeymoon 1 14
Is anyone doing a honeymoon registry? If so, how did you do it? This is both of our second weddings and so we don't need gifts, but we'd like to do a honeymoon registry.

I just set up a registry through Honeyfund.com (which you link your bank account to) and then I posted the link in the registry section of my WW Wedding website. I included the web address that goes directly to my wedding website on the enclosure cards that I am sending out with the invitations, so that when guests go view the website, they will easily be able to find the registry. That’s how I recommend doing it. Honeyfund does take a small percentage of each “donation” you receive, so keep that in mind. There are other Honeymoon registry sites, but a friend of mine used Honeyfund for her wedding and really liked it. I think most of them do charge fees anyway, so that’s pretty normal.

We're doing ours through Zola - the only fee they charge is the credit card transaction fee. You can link to it directly on your wedding website. I'd recommend creating individual items that people can contribute to (hotel nights, excursions, airfare, dinners out, etc.) rather than one big lump sum.

My fiance and I went through Blueprintregistry.com and it's awesome! If you know where you're going to can add experiences and people can help contribute towards them. For example we are going to Ireland and one of our experiences is to do a Jameson Distillery tour and tasting and someone wanted to do that for us and purchased it. You can add whatever you want. And it all goes in to a paypal account that you can have deposited in to your bank account,.

We are sort of doing a honeymoon registry. We are going on a Carnival cruise and to Disneyland as ours so on our registry we put Disney and Carnival gift cards.

I did mine through zola too and put the link in our website.

however, some of my guests were kind of weary of giving me money due to not really knowing what is appropriate. so i decided to itemize some parts of my honeymoon fund. i kept a cash contribution fund where they can give whatever amount they want but then i itemized out some activities such as a boat ride, a theme park ticket, etc. that way people know what they are paying for exactly and what we will be doing on our honeymoon. they seemed much more inclined to give to the fund after i did that and i see most people felt more inclined to buy the activity for us than give to the cash contribution.

I opted for Zola! Easy to use and only fee is the credit card transaction fee.

Hmmmm... I may need to look into this before I send out my invites. I’m registered through Honeyfund, but I wonder if Zola is the better way to go. 🤔

I’d take a peek! I looked at honey fund as well and just wasn’t impressed with the layout. However, I don’t remember the fees associated with them. Zola is just the 2.25% fee (I believe that’s the amount) that either you can pay (ie. guest gives full amount and when you cash it they take the fee out) OR you can have your guests pay the fee so you get the full amount. I also like the look of Zola more and added some upgrade items for those not wanting to go the money route.

Yep, I agree with this. Were going on a cruise so we added a bunch of 'activities' we are planning on doing.

People on other discussions have been so against honeymoon registries! For us, it makes no sense to ask for waffle makers and monogrammed towels when we've been living together already and can purchase things like that on our own. We signed up with Traveler's Joy!
