Honeymoon scam by Dinner4two

Hello other brides! I just wanted to discuss something my fiance and I are going through right now. We went to a cookware demonstration and we were told if we bought this simple set of amazing pots and pans we would get a brochure for a 7 night free vacation. In addition to a gift card to pay for titanium or tungsten rings.
Let me tell you, do not do it. Did they give me everything they promised? Yes, but it did take 6 months of following up to get my brochure, finally. Then, turns out we would have to pay around $500 upfront, plus a refundable $100, before you can even see the different vacation options, or even speak to anyone! It screams "scam". Also, the price of the tungsten and titanium bands is not worth it, yes you would get them for free, but they are plain, not that pretty, and titanium rings from reputable jewelers are cheaper than the ones on the website you have to order through!
I am simply posting this in hopes that NOBODY falls for this like we did, and we feel stupid. Luckily we did not pay as much as other people for the pots and pans and we are going to try to sell them to get some money back at least.

They called me earlier this week! Said we won all these things including a free vacation and just had to come to a cookware show or something. I thought it seemed too good to be true but have been wondering. Thanks for sharing

We went to one of their demos last year. They gave us all of these vouchers for "free" items. Upon further inspection you have to send money orders (i.e. no tracking or disputes) to a PO box. We passed on the offers and threw the vouchers away. At least the chicken from the demo tasted good Smiley tongue

They call everyone I think lol. I got called but been through too many timeshare stuff to know nothing is ever free. So told them to go sit on a tree and spin. (I was in a bad mood that day to begin with)

They were at a bridal show I went to and I out in to win, then they wouldn't stop harassing me. I blocked the number to just be done with it.

I will say after reading all this stuff I was super skeptical and a couple even walked out of the mans pitch after 5 minutes claiming “we read your Yelp reviews” but the pitch was 1.5 hours he started out talking about all the limitations to the prizes aka you pay shipping on rings and champagne flutes and there are certain dates for the all inclusive trips, he also explained very well how all of this works. By mentioning the 3 companies given as prizes they also get brand recognition. The cookware pitch was amazing, the food was great, I was very impressed, although overpriced I did not feel any pressure to buy anything, I actually wish I could have afforded the stuff because I truly was impressed. I asked if we could add to registry unfortunately no. Ultimately if you have a free hour and a half to spare like my fiancé and I, make it a out of the ordinary date night, get some free food, get gifts for free you may or may not use and move on. I think everyone should at least attend. Most gifts have no expiration. Doesn’t hurt to have back up wedding bands or free champagne glasses or a trip you may or may not use. We made of night of it and really enjoyed our time and gifts. We even tried to tip our guy and he refused.
