Honeymoon the day after your wedding?

Is anybody else out there going on their honeymoon the day after the wedding ? We are and I'm trying to work out the logistics. Is this the dumbest move ever or not?

We are leaving the day after, but only getting half-way (staying in Miami that night). Our flight isn't until 5pm the next day, and we'll already have our honeymoon suitcases packed and with us since our wedding is out of town!

We had a Saturday wedding and left for our HM (cruise) on Sunday afternoon. It worked for us!

Also you'll probably have to clean your venue that night or the day after so unless you have someone to do that you'll be occupied doing that.

We are getting married on a Saturday and taking a red eye Sunday night. I think we will be ok.

I'm getting married on a Saturday and am thinking about opening gifts Sunday afternoon and then possibly leaving that night or early Monday.

We did! We left the next night. We were exhausted, but we're so glad we went right away and had such a wonderful time! It was a red eye and we got some sleep on the plane.

We changed ours to leave Monday instead of Sunday for this reason. It was too difficult to get up and be ready to go very next morning, too much to do !

OP- I wouldn't advise leaving for your cruise the same day you're getting there(unless you're driving). If the boat leaves without you, you're finanically responsible for getting to the next port. Booking your flight through the cruise line will prevent this (they will get you to port in case of delay).

That being said, I went to bed at 4am after the wedding, woke up at 7:30am, did Brunch, drove 2.5 hours back home, and took an 8pm flight to Europe. We were exhausted, but it's doable- and we got an extra day in paradise!

Our wedding was on Saturday and we left Monday for the honeymoon. Having a buffer night worked best for us.

Everyone I have spoken to says to wait at least until 2 days after. Right now we're considering leaving the Monday or Tuesday after. I hear you're too exhausted after the wedding and you basically lose a day of your hm.

We are, but we're having a Sunday afternoon wedding and it's just a 2-4 hour drive for our honeymoon (we're renting a cabin in the mountains). We decided to have the big adventure trip when we are actually going to want to go out and explore more. We just wanted to get away and chill and just be us with no one else for a week. If we feel like going out and exploring, there's a great orchard and a lovely little town nearby, but we didn't want to go anywhere extreme because of the presumable exhaustion to follow the wedding. So there's one way to do it.

We are! We are going to our house or a hotel that night and then flying out the next morning.

We wanted a day to recoup, but the flights were way more expensive.

We're getting married on a Saturday, the reception should be over by 6pm or so. The next morning we're hopping on a cruise ship for our HN. I think as long as you have some sort of buffer you should be fine.

We left the very next day- to Europe. It was tough, but so glad we did. We didn't have any of the post wedding blues (family did). It felt like it was just continuing- it was nice!!

We had the option and said hell no. I didn't want to worry about tickets and passports ND suitcases the day of the wedding.
