Honeymoon the day after your wedding?

I went to a family wedding in Florida last spring, I live in Mass. Bride and Groom left for their honeymoon the night of the wedding. As a guest I was a bit frustrated I made the treck there - airfare, car rental, hotel time off of work - to only see them at the ceremony.

That being said, we are not planning to leave for our honeymoon until Tuesday/Wednesday after our wedding, which is a Sunday. This way we can spend time with oot guests, get some sleep. Going mid week actually allows us a little longer travel time. We don't work weekends (for now) so 2 or 4 extra days we don't have to use time off of work.

We plan to leave the Monday after. We want to make sure our daughter and other odds and ends are taken care of before we leave. The day after i just wanna sleep!!!

We're getting married in May but won't do our HM until October. Slower for travel and my vacation days at work don't renew until July.

We got married on a Saturday and left for our honeymoon Monday night. We were so exhausted on Sunday...we ended up going to bed at like 8pm lol.

Were probably leaving Monday I want to say goodbye to my out of town guests Sunday w a brunch

Our reception will be over by 5:30 and we will fly out early afternoon the next day based on what FH is looking at.

For my first wedding, we took a day to rest before leaving. We wound up having brunch and wandering around the mall with some family members and having a really nice time.

Warning. My H spent the whole day after in bed we would have missed our flight

I love this ! How was it ? Im thinking of doing the same ?
