There is always Savannah, GA! It's gorgeous there. Plus, tons of area things to do!

I love Savannah! Charleston, SC isn't too far away either.

Have you been to Tybee Island? NotFroofy and I went there a few years ago, and loved it! It's close enough to Savannah that you can take day trips there, while still getting beach time.

We've thought about going on a week long hiking/camping trip, you can plan out some great trips on the Appalachian trail that would allow you to stop halfway through in a town for a day, then have a planned location that you get off of the trail at and call someone for a ride or walk into town. You can spend that $600 on camping gear that you can reuse for the rest of you life, and a hotel room the night you get married, halfway through the trip and at the end.

Our honeymoon will be close by as well, we just cannot afford to go anywhere exotic. One word of advice, STAY AWAY from anything with the word honeymoon in it. We plan on going to Myrtle Beach, SC for our honeymoon. When I started looking into places to stay, even normal resorts and hotels that have a honeymoon package were all well over $1,000. If you do want to splurge a little you can look into the suites. They may be a little more than a normal room, but it will still save you atleast a few hundred dollars. All you get extra with a honeymoon package (for the ones I looked at) is that champagne upon arrival, sometimes rose petals on the bed, a fruit/chocolate basket, and then some places offer complimentary couples massages, but thats only some places. Places in Georgia I can think of... Tybee Island, Savannah. South Carolina- Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Hilton Head. Tennesse- Gatlinburg, Pidgeon Forge, Nashville. Florida- Orlando, The Keys, Destin....

Myrtle Beach is always an awesome place to go. Especially since you are getting married int the summer, it'll be peak season with lots of things to do. Also consider staying a several FL destinations...maybe a few days in Miami Beach, then a few days in Orlando. You can definitely save money like that!

Dewey Beach in Delaware is one of the best beaches in the country--it's so clean, beautiful and I love it! It's not an exotic island, but it's definitely beachy and relaxing.

You're from GA? We loved Tybee Island!

Try VRBO.com for an area where you want to go. Great deals for accommodations that way!

In addition to travelzoo, try cheap caribbean perhaps?

We are from Tampa and I looked into B&B and noticed they were considerably higher than most hotels.. we are looking into getting away for a few days after our January wedding. I was looking at going to St. Augustine and found a great hotel. Check out www.lafiestainn.com They had some great rooms, for decent prices and there is a lot to do in that area!! Hope you find what you are looking for!!

Keep your watchful eye on livingsocial.com for "escapes". I have seen some amazing deals on there! Also, if you have a COSTCO membership, they tend to have really sweet vacation packages as well.

Washington DC is always a good choice with all the museums, monuments and zoo free. I also spent a very romantic weekend in Columbia, SC with my husband. We stay at the Hampton Inn Columbia Downtown Historic District and spent a lot of time visiting the neighboring places and museums.
