Honeymoon vs. Mini moon

Chelsea, on September 21, 2020 at 7:36 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 4
I've heard it's possible to have a honeymoon at home, at least a mini one....but not sure if we should just go for a quick getaway within an hour from home instead? Of course, concerns about COVID are still a thing and I know many have traveled and said they felt safe.

But does it also make sense to just stay put after everyone leaves (small minimony in the backyard) and get some luxury things to make a staycation special?
What would you do? I'm in southern CA so restrictions are a bit tighter here than other parts of the country.

My FH and I are doing a homeymoon just to be safe but we’re making plans to go out and do things extra special most of the days. Like go out to a forest area half an hour away from home and have a picnic or go out stargazing out in the boonies where the stars are brightest 😁✨

My FH and I are doing a mini-moon, going to Nevada City, about an hour away from us. We're staying in a cute bed & breakfast with a private little house, so no worries about COVID and sharing things with others. Maybe there's similar places around where you live? I'm up in northern CA so a few counties have opened up more.

A stay-cation sounds really nice too, and romantic! Especially if most places around you aren't open. Maybe you two can cook a fancy meal together, or spa day at home!

I would stay put - or very close to home - and save the money for a bigger trip next year.

Are there places by you where the numbers are going down? (I am constantly tracking my county on the NYT website, for instance, and we're doing well, now, after being awful in April. Not clear, but... I am no longer afraid to leave my house.)

A few people have been posting about b&bs out in the middle of nowhere, that are adorable, but safe, and, of course, nicely private for a honeymoon.
