Honeymoon Weeks After Wedding?

BBBB2016, on May 20, 2015 at 4:11 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 30

We are going on a cruise for our honeymoon and the ship we want to take doesn't have a trip until 2 weeks after our wedding. Anyone else not going on their honeymoon directly after their wedding?

We're not going until January. FH and I can't get off of work in October and then the holidays roll around so we just decided to wait until after.

We're possibly waiting a week. Just so we can settle down, cash checks, deposit cash, etc. and finalize some other things before rushing off to honeymoon.

We're leaving a week later because it's easier with work schedules. Plus then we have some down time in between.

We went to Niagara Falls for 3 days directly after the wedding, but are waiting another 6 months or so to go on our "real" honeymoon. We want to go somewhere warm and tropical, but we thought going in May would be silly and would rather go during the winter when Boston is a miserable place to be. Smiley smile

(Niagara Falls was awesome, though. Wouldn't trade our "mini-moon" for anything.)

We had a June honeymoon for our February wedding. It just made more sense with money and prices and work.

I was just in Turkey for vacation and we had a couple who had waited 6 months - and we might wait that long too if we decide to go to New Zealand or Australia since it will be hitting winter when we get married. I think if we wait that long though we would take a few extra days off and rent a cabin at a park nearby though so we could relax with the pup and have a mini honeymoon of sorts. Smiley smile

We aren't going until the end of September! Although it seems far away, I know it will help us save more money and it will be here before we know it....just like this wedding lol!

We plan to wait until the following November or January, so 6-8 months! We will go on a mini moon right afterwards for about 3 days.

Although I'm glad we went after our wedding (because if we didn't go right after I would've been upset we didn't haha), but looking back on the experience, it would've been nice to have a week or two to space it out. Giving you a little time to calm down from the wedding (more than just a day that we had) and something else to look forward to. I hate that it's all over now.

We are waiting a year like VDizzle. It will be our ann. gift to each other.

We are also mini-mooning since we are getting married in Portland Or. and currently live in Tampa Fl.

We are leaving a week after our wedding... It gives us time to relax afterwards and get stuff done before we leave.

We will also probably be waiting 6 months to a year. Military leave and all that.

We will be waiting a month for our honeymoon. I didn't want to rush a trip right after the wedding. I like the thought of relaxing after the activities and then getting to enjoy the adventure of a HM!!

We will be going on our one year anniversary. Between our obligations to work and school, we just can't swing it. But this way we'll be able to really save up for it and enjoy ourselves and not worry too much about the cost.

We're going to Cape Cod for two nights right after the wedding, then somewhere tropical around Christmas to escape the New England winter!
