Honeymoon

Hi everyone! When and where are you planning your honeymoon? My fh and I are planning on taking 2 weeks off after the wedding and we are not sure where to go that's also not going to cost the other arm and leg after paying for the wedding. We plan on staying in the US.

We live in Tn, so for our honeymoon, we rented a cabin in Gatlinburg for three nights to relax and recoup after the wedding, and then we are driving to Myrtle Beach for four nights. He wanted mountains, and I wanted the beach so we compromised and are doing both.

We live in NC but we had our wedding and familymoon in the FL Keys. We stayed in Islamorada which is about 1/2 way to Miami and Key West. Also known as the Sport Fishing Capital of the world Smiley sexy . Our particular resort was a little more expensive then most but it did offer the following amenities on site which made it perfect:

Water Trampoline, 2 Pools (1 swim up bar), Bicycles, Kayaks, Stand up Boards, Snorkeling equipment, bottled water, K-cups for your room.

Due to covid, this was not available, but we bought a couple of sets at the local store and it was well worth the cost) - And the resort has a great reef shelf for snorkeling; we saw the following almost daily (just at the resort): manatees, stingray, lobster, hog fish, barracuda, angelfish, blowfish, jelly fish, coral (red), blue tang... just to name a few

Nearby you can see an array of Marlin and feed them along with nurse shark.

Additionally the resort offer 4 restaurants on-site including a starbucks (if you're a coffee fiend), honestly, the resort you didn't have to leave if you didn't want to.

So, aside from loving our resort, Islamorada is absolutely, narrow islands so you can wake up to the sunrise (on the Atlantic) and then find a restaurant restaurant and watch the sunset (on the Bay / Gulf). Rent a boat for the day and head out to the Sand Bar and listen to music and lounge in the water in the middle of the Atlantic. Take a guided snorkeling tour to Alligator Reef.

After our minimony we went to the National Harbor and stayed for a few days. We originally planned on going to Aruba after our big wedding March 2021, but we highly doubt that we will be going out of the country with covid. We will probably do something simple like Vegas for a week.

We're taking 2 weeks off after our wedding and taking a mini road trip in CA (we live in Socal) for 6 nights, 7 days, and then when we come back we'll have some down-time to take care of presents, thank you notes, getting used to living together, etc.

My FH and I are going to the cape for the weekend. His family so generously allowed us to stay at their summer home. I think if there’s a vaccination by next summer we’ll try to go somewhere like Hawaii or Europe.

We did Disney/Universal, as we wanted something fun, and we couldn't quite manage Europe.

It was a great trip, and if it weren't for the pandemic, we'd be planning our next one.
