Hi everyone! me and my fiance really wanted to go to europe. preferably italy but we are open to other places. but our main concern is vaccine passports and quarantine. we are ok with covid testing but would like to find somewhere that only requires a covid test prior. any ideas?

With your wedding not being until October, it is impossible to predict what travel requirements are going to be in effect at that time. As it is, travel requirements are literally changing daily. A majority of European countries are requiring current vaccinations and boosters to enter, and every day more areas are being added to the list. Of those that do not require vaccinations, they will either require you to:
    A. have a negative PCR test prior to boarding the plane, then another negative PCR test prior to leaving (meaning if you contract Covid while there, you could then be stuck in the country for another two weeks).
Or B. Some areas require travelers to be tested as soon as they arrive in the country, then they must quarantine for 2-3 days while awaiting the results. But again, everything could be different by October. It’s different every day.

Along with what Cece said, even if a country allows travel with testing (no vaccine), many restaurants, museums, etc. are restricting unvaccinated from entry.

Thank you both for that info! It’s really hard to plan a honeymoon nowadays with everything changing all the time.

Thank you! I actually forgot to mention this! Yes, tons of restaurants, etc. and Europe are requiring either proof of current vaccine and booster (if it’s time for one), or they are requiring non-vaccinated individuals to show proof of a negative test every 48 hours.

Europe is very strict, particularly Italy which has had 3 lockdowns. I would continually check updates for required vaccination passports and quarantine upon arrival rules for your country.

Maybe consider somewhere in the Caribbean.. they have less strict rules on this.

That’s true! But my fiancé is from an island in Micronesia and we’ve done a lot of of island stuff so we kinda wanted a European vibe with our honeymoon. I’ll have to still look into that though

I know this isn't Europe, but we are going to the Dominican Republic and they aren't very strict. They do random Covid tests at arrival and of course, before coming back to the U.S. Our resort won't require masks on the property, either.
