Andrea, on July 15, 2019 at 3:04 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 10
Help I went to the beach and got horrible tan lines while I was trying to tan and my dress has a pretty open back, does anyone know of any do at home tan product I could use or any body makeup? I can’t afford to go get it fixed at a salon at this point

Welcome to the WeddingWire community, Andrea!

Oh no, I’m sorry this has happened!

Have you reached out to your makeup artist to see if he/she has a suggestion of body makeup that could help cover them up?

Take ibuprofen or aspirin. It helps soothe and will make it less inflamed. Lots and lots of aloe (straight from the plant, if you can get it.) Lotion with vitamin C might help fade it a little. Then, I’d wait a few days and go to Sephora to get color matched for body makeup. My best friend had tan lines that we evened out with bronzer and a fluffy brush but I think you might need actual foundation. Good luck!

L'oreal sublime bronze summer express lotion helps a lot with tan lines for me and it doesn't seem to wear off

Maybe try getting a spray tan or self tanner to cover the tan lines and a base all over to blend it all together?

Avoid any additional sun if you are prone to burning - you don't want to have a sunburn on your big day! Definitely use some aloe/lotion, and I would highly recommend Jergens natural glow lotion to darken the tan line. The lotion is a sunless tanner that is pretty easy to use. I would apply a little bit over a few days to ONLY the part on your back that didn't get sun.

Read the directions very carefully and monitor your skin to make sure it isn't blotchy and that it matches the color. From my experience with the product, it might match the rest of your skin if applied daily in light applications! It works very quickly for me personally.

Otherwise, I agree that makeup will help. A pink-toned bronzer should help a bit, as should foundation. Just be careful that it is set properly, otherwise there could be an issue with transferring onto clothing, such as a white dress. Good luck! Hope this helps!

Eucalyptus and lavender essential oils with water in a spray bottle. This will get rid of any burn asap and then you can spray tan to help you even out! Worst comes to worst just rock them! Good luck!!!

Get some self-tanning lotion and have someone fill in the lines. Don’t do your whole back, just where you’re white. Between the tanning effect and the fading from the suntan, it should equal out.

Oh my golly. Be so careful with essential oils. I’ve heard some people can literally get chemical burns from them because they’re so concentrated.

That’s why you concentrate it with water, about 10 drops each to one cup water and you’ve got the best sunburn relief ever!
