Hot Chocolate Bar

Private User, on November 21, 2013 at 2:26 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 8

Has anyone ever done this? What was the set up? How did you keep milk warm? I am thinking of doing this at my wedding but i am having logistics issues in how to keep the milk hot.

I wanted to do this so badly!!! You can use a caraffe or a crock pot. What I wanted to do was have a big ol' thing of hot water in a dispenser, and have different flavored mixes in pretty glass jars. Add marshmallows, chocolate and regular whipped cream, and maybe even chocolate and caramel syrup! It sounded like so much fun to me.

I would go with hot water instead of milk. They can add whipcream if they want a creamier hot chaocolate.

Milk would last in a crock pot for a while...but not all night!

I am totally doing this! Since our wedding is in December, we have a combo of hot chocolate and coffee bar. There will be flavorings for the coffee and for the hot chocolate we have whipped cream, cinnamon sticks, marshmellows, chocolate shavings... This is basically how it is set up.

It is a nice touch at the end of the night for all the guests!!

@LetItSnow I heard creamer might help make the hot chocolate thicker too. Thanks!

That link isn't tied to my personal pinterest account. We will be doing cream for coffee, so people can add it to their hot chocolate if they want.

Unless you're hiring an espresso caterer who offers hot chocolate and is able to heat milk that way, it is going to be very difficult to work with in a diy setup. Heat up water in one of those tall commercial coffee carafes.
