Hotel blocks

Jamieka, on February 28, 2020 at 2:57 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
What’s you ladies thoughts on reserving hotel blocks? Is there a certain number of rooms you should set aside automatically based on how many out of town guests you invite? Trying to determine if it’s needed. And how it all works if we don’t get enough people to fill them.

Help!!

Most hotels will do a courtesy hold for no charge, so I would recommend calling around and looking into this! My hotel (Holiday Inn Express & Suites) would hold a maximum of 60 rooms for us. We will have approx. 100 out of town guests! I definitely suggest doing a block, a typical room at our Holiday Inn is $156/night, but our guests are getting their rooms for $99/night!

    Hi,
I used the link I found on here to reserve a courtesy block of rooms for my out of town guests. Free of charge and easy to use. Good luck!

Unless the contract states otherwise, you’re not responsible for any rooms that are unhooked. The venue will give you a suggestion of how many rooms to put in the block, you can ask for more rooms or fewer. If there are other lodgings nearby, maybe only reserve for about half the number of guests. If they are the only place around many miles, request a couple more. Venue will also release rooms in the block X days before the event, so notify your guests of when that is.
