Hotel Gift Bags-Yes or No?

Hey everyone. I am so on the fence about doing gift bags. Our wedding is anywhere from 1 to 4 hours away for everyone coming. We have a hotel block and so far about 90% of our guests have booked a room. I know they're not necessary, but would you side eye the bride and groom if they didn't leave...

If you vote yes, what would you like to see in them?

We are having them! Not sure what we'll put into them just yet.

Mmbrake - there was someone at the hotel we were working with on our room block and she emailed us periodically with an updated form that showed who had booked in our block. She emailed us a finalized version the day after the block closed.

We also had several guests book outside the room block. We called her office and just asked her to look up the names of some of the other guests who we knew were coming but weren't in the block to find out if they were also staying at the hotel so we could prepare enough welcome bags. They were really nice about checking on that for us.

I haven't thought about it for my wedding yet. I will say though, I went to a wedding in NYC a couple years ago and I truly appreciated the water, Advil and carbs (soft pretzels) and I thought it was such a thoughtful gesture.

We're choosing to do them, Maryland stuff...chesapeake crab chips, fishers popcorn, honest tea and some headache pills. We'll also include a map to our house as were doing a BBQ the following day in lieu of a rehearsal dinner.

We aren't doing them either. Guests are coming from 2 to 6 hours away generally.

My parents insisted on doing them. I thought they would go unnoticed by guests but we got a lot of great feedback (probably because there was alcohol in it.)

We're doing one per room. Our hotel isn't charging to hand them out at check in. They have the wedding guests flagged in their computer. We bought small things over a period of time for the bags...water..sweets..salty snack..etc. Just a little extra for the folks paying to stay overnight, but certainly isn't a must. Our hotel will allow us to have an 8x10 sign on check in desk with info about shuttle service that we are providing for our guests.
