Hotel question

Amanda, on June 22, 2021 at 2:48 PM Posted in Planning 0 10
Has anyone had trouble booking your hotel rooms for your guests accommodations? I’m having my reception at a banquet hall and the hotel is near by. The problem is, the bridal suite isn’t included with our room blocks, hotel says because our reception isn’t at the hotel.
If we want it we would have to pay for it ourselves. That kinda makes sense but we were told it was included.

Any suggestions?

I think it makes sense for them to charge you to use their bridal suite. What kind of suggestions are you looking for? Can you afford to pay for the suite? If not, can book a regular room instead? Or find some place else to get ready in (or stay? I'm not sure what you want the bridal suite for). Your ceremony or reception venue might have a getting ready room available.

I would just pay for the bridal suite.

When was it told to you that it was included and who told you? Do you have it in writing?

That's pretty typical. Can you just pay for it or book a regular room?

It’s up to guests to book their own rooms. What happens if they decide to stay elsewhere. Call for a courtesy block. If they don’t have one, keep looking elsewhere. You should not pay anything out of pocket except for your own lodging.

So sorry, I’m not following why you believe your room should be free?

The goal of a hotel block should be to secure the best hotel room price possible for your guests, not to get yourself a free room.
