Hotel rooms for your wedding night

MrsBest2B, on April 15, 2015 at 11:41 AM Posted in Planning 0 21

For those of you staying in a hotel (before your honeymoon) on your wedding night and/or the night before what type of room are you getting? Standard or suite? I'm thinking suite just so my bridal party can hang out before going to the venue and there's more room for getting ready, holding flowers and other decor etc, but I don't know if the $ is totally worth it. Can't ask FH cause he'll say it's not worth it lol. What is everyone doing?

We are doing a standard room. We just need to stay there for the night and then we will head off the next morning to our honeymoon with a better place to stay. If your honeymoon is not the next day I would say go with a suite but if it is then a standard room should be fine.

We're just getting a regular room but I'll be getting ready at house before so I didn't need the extra space. We thought about it but quickly decided it wasn't worth the extra expense when we'll be exhausted and leaving next morning anyway.

We rented a suite for the night before and night of. FH will stay in the suite and get ready with his friends before coming to the venue. I just loved the look of the suite, plus the fact we have a fire place and full kitchen.

Standard room, mainly because we are getting ready at the reception venue since that have areas for the bridal and grooms party to get ready so the room is really just for the night of the wedding. But if you're planning on getting ready at the hotel, definitely want a suite

We got a suite. The BP and I will be getting ready there so I wanted more space and good natural lighting (I picked the exact room). FH wanted us to have a nice room and bathroom on our wedding night. Our venue/hotel is an older hotel so some of the standard rooms are really small. If we weren't getting ready there I wouldn't have wanted to spend the money on the suite because I know FH and I will be passing out pretty quickly and spending more time in bed than chilling on the couch or whatever.

We are doing a suite because FH is getting ready there with his GM. I think you if you and your BP are in a room you should get the suite.

We're doing a suite for two nights. FH will stay their the night before with some friends and then we have the room for the BP to hang out in the day of the wedding. The suite is huge, then we offered to those same friends to use the room the night of the wedding for them to save some money, since our venue gives us a free night in another room.

We are getting a suite the night before and night of. The bridal party and I will be using it to get ready. And we actually will get it for the same rate as the other rooms in our block if we fill the block which we did.

We would probably get a suite or at least a room with the jacuzzi tub in our venue (it's a hotel). However, the package deal with us having our wedding there gives us the presidential suite for free, so hey!

We are doing a suite because the reception & ceremony are both on site (it is a resort) and there are about 7 women getting hair and make up done there. We got a promo with the resort, so if we stay the friday night, the saturday night is free, so it works out to about 225 a night, which is pretty reasonable for a two story suite that has a beautiful wrought iron spiral stair case, a fireplace, and a jacuzzi in it. Smiley laugh

Thursday night standard, so I can accept the flower delivery in the morning Friday as check in isn't until 4pm.

Friday night a suite plus a standard room, all in a little private nook so I can have my guests come stop by for food (informal rehearsal dinner) as they arrive. Only a few will be coming that night anyway because FH's family isn't hosting a dinner. I also need the space to work on the flowers and put them with a room at a 40 degree temp if the AC can get it that low.

Saturday night we get a bridal suite gratis, but I will be providing the Friday night suite and standard rooms to guests who FH "owes."

I have the bridal suite for the night before and the rehearsal dinner as catered at and by the hotel so I don't have to even drive after and then all my vendors can come there in the AM to take pics and get me ready and then we have the same suite for the night of the wedding so all my stuff can just stay there and I don't have to pack or unpack anything the morning of or the night of. It wasn't too pricey and I am totally looking forward to it! Some of my girls even said they would stay with me the night before!

I'm staying in the suite the night before and FH is joining me the night of. My bridesmaids and I are getting ready in the hotel and we need the space. I didn't want to deal with the hassle of checking in/checking out. If you have a hotel block see if they can give you a deal. I'm getting a reduced rate and I've heard of some hotels either charging you the block rate for your suite or even comping it completely.

We're doing a suite, but it's because we'll have to get ready there. The ceremony venue has no space for us to get ready and my family's house is about 30 minutes or more away and with out ceremony starting at 1:30 in the afternoon, I just decided to splurge and get it for 2 nights. I'm thinking about maybe letting my MOH stay with me on the friday, but I want to make sure I get some good sleep... It costs $239/night and the regular rooms are $100 less than that.

We stayed at an upscale B&B and booked one of their most romantic rooms (we even splurged for a package).

The hotel where we did our room block doesn't have suites, so we have a conference room to get ready in. They comp'd us a room for the wedding night.
