Hotel wedding venue

Green, on July 21, 2019 at 8:09 PM Posted in Oregon Planning 0 4

I want a hotel wedding but I can't find any information on it besides the typical hotel wedding venues in my area which are more expensive. It can be any hotel (even Holiday Inn or something will do) as long as it has bright lighting (I don't like a yellow, purple or blue hue) and is good for both reception and ceremony. The ceremony can be the same room or different, it doesn't really matter.

I would like the location to be in the greater Portland (Oregon) area, with capacity of at least 300, and allow BYO food. My budget is $2,000.

How do I start searching or finding a hotel venue that fits this? When I visit hotel sites, it only shows conference events or other non-wedding events.

I would also LOVE to see wedding photos of hotel weddings so I can get some ideas and inspiration! TIA!

Have you looked through the hotel vendor list on here? That's how we found our Holiday Inn venue.

Also, how many guests are you planning? I saw you said have the 300 guest capacity and your budget is only $2k? Its gonna be tough. Ours was about $6k for 55 guests.

You will struggle to find a hotel venue with a facility large enough to fit your requirements that will allow outside catering.

Most places that can accommodate 300+ for an event are going to have their own kitchen and catering staff.

I agree with this. OP, use the vendor tool on WW to find venues. But as Chandra said, your budget is not realistic for 300 people. Also, most (if not all) hotels will not let you bring your own food unless you are using the services of a professional caterer. With the budget you mentioned it sounds like you plan to make your own food which is generally discouraged for a number of reasons including liability, stress, and making loved ones work when they should be treated like VIPs.
