How are you decorating your entryway into the reception??

C + R, on January 20, 2014 at 1:53 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 13

I'm trying to decide how I want to decorate the entryway (where the bridal party will be entering) to our reception. I'm thinking about just getting a white lighted arch like the one below and decking it out with tulle, but it seems like I see that at weddings all the time-- and I'd like to do something different. We're trying to stick with a rustic theme-- chalkboards, logs, twine, burlap, etc. We're looking for something that won't cost a ton or be a huge pain to make/buy. Anyone care to share what they are doing (or did do) at their reception??

Do you really need something just for that purpose? Or is that where your guests are entering and exiting too?

To answer your question, I am not decorating the doorway. We're doing corn stalks, hay barrels, and flower pots of mums outside since the hall will be decorated for fall anyways and the inside of the dining room will be decorated with our center pieces and a couple other things.

We're not concerned about the doorway, but it seems like this would be easy to make with PBC piping, tulle and white Christmas lights.

It's the same entry that the guests will be using as well. The space looks pretty bland right now as-is, so I'd like to do something to perk it up-- I'm just not sure what. Your fall decorations sound beautiful!!

I am decorating the outside, but never thought about decorating the inside. :/

This is what my outside will sorta look like (my inspiration) Instead of the circle I want to wrap our initials in twine.

    Woulds simple curtains do?

Maybe decorating the inside is something that's only done locally in my region! Those curtains are very nice (I'm in love with your décor style!!), but I don't think they will work with our venue. I should've mentioned first that we will need something freestanding-- we will be entering the hall right at the top of a stairwell that doesn't have a door frame around it.

Gotcha! Party city has a lighted arch for $40...I am thinking of getting it for the ceremony with some burlap from home depot and weaving it in and out. Just a thought. Michaels has 40% off fake flower garland this week also. Thats my DIY project this week Smiley smile

That sounds pretty OneDayARamsay!!! I looked up the arch you mentioned on PartyCity-- and actually consumercrafts.com has the same one for $29.97 + 15% off right now-- just wanted to share that deal with you if you're a sale-shopper like me! Thanks for passing along the Michaels deal-- I'll have to check it out! That's a do-able option for what I'm looking for... If you DIY that, make sure to share pics with us =)

I'm putting large helium heart balloons on the front gate of the property to the reception and leaving the rest as is since its a winding garden path

I'm in love Terry. Those rooms are so pretty alone-- you probably don't have to do any decorating at all! I've never seen a ceremony or reception location so unique.
