How are you handling “dancing zones” at your wedding?

it’s currently a requirement to dance in zones and I’m not sure I understand it.. I have yet to see this enforced I’m hoping it goes away by Aug 2021

I agree .. we’re also planning our wedding with no dancing as of right now .. I can’t believe that we are paying so much $$ and they wouldn’t at least be More lenient as people get tested and vaccinated .. that’s definitely a bummer

I hear you on the $$ part! We’re going to try to do the dancing zone thing if it still applies on our date, and it’s going to require us to rent a huge dance floor, which means we also need to rent a much bigger tent. Hoping the rules change soon but if not, we’re going to be way over budget.

Does anyone know when the restrictions get re-looked?

The guidance, which came out in March, just says that the State will revisit the dancing zone rule “as the public health condition continues to change.”

I would love to know who suggested dancing zones and who thought it was a great idea lol, like you’re putting people in a restrictive area to dance .. how is that safe

My wedding consultant mentioned the same thing that she heard June 1st it would end but I have yet to find a news finding to support that.

I haven’t seen anything official either, and I’ve been keeping a pretty close eye on things. Wonder where Brides of Long Island got that...

Personally I’m really hoping they lift the rule in time for Memorial Day weekend. That’s when our date is, and I imagine many others are in the same boat.

Ok, some new guidance just came out. Starting May 3, no dance zones, but there will still need to be social distancing and masks on dance floors: https://www.governor.ny.gov/news/governor-cuomo-announces-state-will-end-food-and-beverage-service-curfew#:~:text=Governor%20Andrew%20M.%20Cuomo%20today,dining%20areas%20beginning%20May%2031

This is great news, as long as there are no zones I’m happy!

Our venue told us that masks and dancing zones will not be enforced if everyone who attends can prove vaccination status.
