How are you pampering the guys on your big day?

Holly, on March 30, 2020 at 12:16 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 9
Me and my girls are getting our hair and nails done, but I wasn't so sure how to pamper the guys. (Or how much it would cost) maybe a fancy shaving...thing? We are doing a slight 1920s theme, so maybe going to a place with straight razor shaving? (We live in NYC so we should have options, I assume). Maybe going to a sauna or somthing? I don't know, what are you guys doing?

The dressing room for the men has a huge (I mean huge) big screen setup and it connect to like a Top Golf game thing lol. The venue has encouraged him to bring any gaming system and they will connect it to the screen for him and the groomsmen. Funny thing is, he's not hugely into gaming systems, but his groomsmen are ecstatic about it. The day before, I am getting him a spa massage and foot massage.

It sounds like a nice idea but I wouldn't have them do anything new to their faces/skin the day of the wedding. What if they get razor burn, have a bad reaction to the soap, etc, you don't want red blotchy faces. Maybe food and drinks in the getting ready room for them.

I feel like my husband and his friends would’ve hated anything like that 😂 they met up at 11am (for our 12pm ceremony) got dressed, my husband cut himself shaving and had to send over one of his friends to borrow some of my makeup to cover it (lol) and that was it!

So we got the groomsmen Leatherman tools engraved as their gift. My fiancé doesn’t know that I also got him and his groomsmen nice etched whiskey glasses that I plan on having delivered to them with a nice bottle of bourbon while my daughter, son, and I are getting ready.

I agree NOT having a shave day of... although I had originally thought of that as a week in advance treat here in Chicago, I’ve also seen that they high end places that do so have mediocre ratings and apparently rotate staff constantly so I was scared it wouldn’t turn out right and didn’t want a botched job!
Maybe sending them to get massages?

My husband and the groomsmen didn't do anything special. They drove to a Sheetz about a half hour away from breakfast then just hung out.

I am having all of my guys professionally shaved in house on us through my hair dresser, ( my guys are lumber jacks and have a 5 o'clock shadow by noon lol) and I have our venue stocking their room with all the favorite beers and lunch on us. My fiance is getting a personal model of our boat ( he has always wanted but won't buy himself) and maybe a little black book..

Snacks and screens. One of the venues we visited (didn't end up going with it this particular one) had a Groom Room with a TV and mini fridge which was really nice. You could also set up those chair massages of you wanted it to be similar to what your bridesmaids are getting. I don't want to generalize but I feel like guys are pretty easy. I'm sure they'll be okay with any "extra."
