How are/will you display your wedding pictures?

Stephanie ♥, on February 20, 2013 at 1:25 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 10

We've been married & had our pictures for a few months now, but they're still just sitting here on my hard drive. I'm having a tough time figuring out where to put pictures, how many to display, which ones to choose, & what not. I don't want our home to look all shrine-y, but at the same time, right now our life consists of just me & DH ..no dog, no kids, just us :]. Who/what else should we be displaying? Am I missing something :[. Oh, plus, we paid a pretty penny & I really think we look genuinely happy & pretty/handsome haha.

As newlyweds, what did you do? Even if you're not yet married, have any ideas to what you're going to do or just to help a decorating-challenged wife out haha?

We chose our favorite one and made it into a canvas. That one is on the mantle above the fireplace, so it kinda has the most important spot.

The photo guest book is in the office, but that's an e-pic. We also have one smaller version with our vows written over it, courtesy of MrsO. But that's it.

We didn't have a professional photographer at our original wedding and honestly, I don't think we ever got any of the pictures we took printed to hang. My suggestion would be to to a collage of the pictures (a collage frame, separate pictures) to hang in your living room, perhaps place one or two on a bookshelf or entertainment center as well. Then, also place one or two in your bedroom on the wall/dresser/nightstand.

I will be ordering a photobook from our renewal and printing some of the photos as well to place on the wall/bookshelfs/mantle of me and hubby and the family. We own a house now (lived in apartment and were moving frequently when married), so that may also be the reason for the change...

We honestly haven't done much yet and our wedding was back in May of last year.

I did create a very nice professional quality album with our wedding photos (for us and then one for each set of our parents as well).

We did just recently move after Christmas and the place were were in before we didn't have any places to really display photos. Too many windows, not enough free wall space to hang and not much shelf space either.

Now that we are in our new house, we have a lot more bare walls that we can display photos but I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I have the same problem as you that I have a hard time choosing which to print, how big, where to put them etc. We are finally settled into our house with our necessities so I can start thinking more about decorations. I just got a big 20x30 canvas in the mail that I ordered for above our fireplace but even for that, I chose an engagement photo over a wedding photo for that. Still need to actually hang it.

I got a free photo book from Shutterfly for reviewing vendors on The Knot, so there's that. I also got a free canvas print from here, so one of our pictures is on our wall. I'll likely do another canvas print with vow art in the future.

I did a Walmart collage print for my office, and will probably get a collage frame for all the pictures I got free from Shutterfly. I'm also making a shadow box with items and some pictures from the wedding.

I'm going to make my own photo album/ scrapbook from the bridal shower to the honeymoon, and then make my parents one of just the wedding/ honeymoon. I will probably put my bouquet and a picture in a big shadow box and hang it somewhere.

We did not order a album from the photographer, too ridiculously expensive.

One blow up in entry way, one in bedroom. Coffee table book album. You can also try Home Goods or similar store. They have beautiful photo frame collages (they start at about 11"x14" and go up from there) and you can have a range of 8"x10", 5"x7" and 4"x6" to tell your wedding story. They look really nice and most of the frames run about $40-50 or so.

We are doing frames as guestbooks. Guests will sign one of two frames (write a note) and then we will put wedding pictures in them and hang them on our house. For the wedding we're thinking of having stick figure drawings in the frames of the picture we expect to put in there. (On of FH and I, and the other will have 2 pictures, one of the groomsmen and one of the bridesmaids).

I plan on doing a photo frame collage of the wedding using our favorite ones. I'll probably do that for our e-pics too. But I would like to hang up 1 picture from each that are our favorites too. Albums are a little too pricey, but our photographer said that he lets people choose months later if they want an album...so down the road if we want one of those we can get it. I might make my own though.

Our photos were provided in a digital format only so we brought the electronic photo frame and uploaded our photos on there. And now we can view all photos at any time.
