How big of a deal are flowers?

Llcool_Kay, on June 8, 2020 at 8:50 PM Posted in Style and Décor 1 32
I want to save on flowers but would also love to have some nice table pieces. Let’s face it. Florists can be pricey. Even with majority of the flowers I want already being in season. I was on amazon (LOVE THEM) and found a bunch of artificial flowers that I would love to use. Is it tacky to use those? Do people try to feel or smell flowers at weddings? Any advice? I really don’t want to works over $400 on floral decor because I’m splurging on other things

I'm using faux flowers for centerpieces, bouquets, bouts etc. The only real flowers I'm considering will be my bouquet but even that might end up being faux.

I dont consider it tacky, but it realistic for my budget.

I’m super picky personally with floral. I personally can’t do fake floral. Not to say that it’s a bad thing, I’m just the type of person that will smell and feel flowers at a weddingNot in a judgey way, just out of curiosity I guess. I just recently found the website fiftyflowers! They are so cheap! They even have deals like 10 centerpieces for 169bucks. They tell you the exact day that you want to get them delivered for and they give you tips on how to cut them and so forth. In my opinion it really is an amazing site. I simply cannot afford floral at this point. My state is so incredibly expensive for floral, and I can’t see myself spending $3000 for a mason jar filled with a few Roses and babies breath’s. I’m literally saving thousands by this website.

Honestly it’s not a big deal aha I didn’t have any for centerpieces and only used fake ones for bouquets.

I’m the same as you... I feel and smell out of curiosity.. I would say that sometimes bulk flowers are cheaper than faux flowers, especially the ones that look real. I’m doing faux flowers on things that will be far away from people like the arch and ceremony decor... the table flowers will be real but I’m doing like you and ordering bulk

Wasn’t important to each. Ride varies. I believe spending less on flowers and invites as those are things that aren’t memorable. People rememb r more that they had good time, food was better than most, vows and wedding dress sometimes. The dress was important to me so I spent more than planned. I’m getting real flowers for me and the bridal party at Costco or Sams club. (10 pieces about $300). And I have vases with candles for $2 from ikea along with rose petals scattered.

I always feel and smell flowers when I'm at events - it's a thing I've always done and my entire family does. For this reason, fake flowers were not an option for us. But, we also picked a beautiful ballroom for the reception, so we won't be doing decor other than flowers. It isn't tacky, per se, but more of a personal preference.

I Would Rather Spend Less Money On Faux Flowers Then MORE Money On Real Flowers That Will Just End Up Dying.

We're using only real flowers. We're from CT and our flowers cost thousands but we're throwing a very formal wedding so using fake ones wasn't an option. I've also never been to a wedding with fake flowers either however I don't see the problem of using them if you want too. Smiley smile

I am doing "real touch" faux flowers. Pretty cheap on Amazon in bulk (the rose petals are made of a really thin foam so they are soft). They look real!

After the wedding, you could sell the arrangements on FB marketplace and make some $ back, rather than splurging on the real deal which would just get thrown out.

To help save $ on decorations, you can also look for items that are larger and take up more space. Or consider 3D paper flowers.

As a wedding guest, I like to see how creative/unique the décor is. The cost, how "traditional" things are, etc, don't even cross my mind. Just go with what you like and whatever is a reflection of youSmiley smile

My mom and I are very judgmental about flowers so I'm always for real flowers. That being said, no one else that I'm aware has commented on flowers. From my sister's wedding people remembered the food, the drinks, and the dancing so if it makes sense for you're budget and makes you happy definitely save on flowers. I know a lot of grocery stores in my area have flowers for cheaper so I'd definitely check there.

I used fake flowers at my wedding and no one noticed. My bridesmaid's and I's bouquets were fake and the flowers we had on our tables were fake. I'm not a big flower person so I knew from the start I was going to use fake flowers. As long as you purchase good quality flowers no one will notice. I got all of mine from Hobby Lobby. Smiley smile

My FH was jokingly telling me I could buy the real scent spray for the flowers. Did you do that? Or are we just extra 😂😂
