How big of a deal are flowers?

I want to save on flowers but would also love to have some nice table pieces. Let’s face it. Florists can be pricey. Even with majority of the flowers I want already being in season. I was on amazon (LOVE THEM) and found a bunch of artificial flowers that I would love to use. Is it tacky to use...

I was on amazon (LOVE THEM) and found a bunch of artificial flowers that I would love to use. Is it tacky to use those? Do people try to feel or smell flowers at weddings? Any advice? I really don’t want to works over $400 on floral decor because I’m splurging on other things

I don’t think faux flowers are ugly, some look real and they could be reused or even kept as a memoir. However, to me real flower is a must. I designed my bouquet and his boutonnière. Each flower and leaf type, the color, the numbers of them symbolize something. This is my wedding after 23 years eloping. So, I think it’s worth the splurge.

I think with fake flowers they aren’t tacky, unless they’re reeeally fake looking. I’m doing fake flowers for bouquets because I barely care about flowers at all, however I still wanted my girls and I to hold them for the ceremony at least. For centerpieces I actually decided on a single fake branch in a vase with filler at the bottom. Didn’t cost too much How big of a deal are flowers? 1

Real flowers were a must for us because we had a formal wedding, but I've been to weddings with fake flowers before and as a guest, I barely even noticed. If you end up going with fake flowers, I would absolutely recommend using real flowers for your own bouquet. Your bouquet will be in the majority of your posed wedding photos so this is where real flowers make a big difference. Quality real flowers for your own bouquet is definitely worth the splurge, in my opinion.

You could save some by renting flowers from someplace like borrowed blooms. My cousin did this and they look great and are wheeled away afterwards.

HOLY guacamole - thank you so much recommending Flower Moxie. I've been sucked into their reviews and videos for 2 hours. My decisions has been MADE. I'm so excited!

You’re welcome!!! I’m so excited too, i contacted them and did their custom design months ago and I loved it. I did do some tweaking, but they really try to stay within your budget and they are so so awesome to work with! Good luck! ♥️♥️♥️

Thank you!!! If you don't mind me asking, who helped you put everything out? Did you have a DOC in charge of making sure those arrangements were put our properly?

So our wedding hasn’t happened yet, but what we are planning on doing is having everything ready to go the day before and between our parents friends and the DOC then we will have them set everything up 😊😊😊

Super helpful!!! I haven’t hired a DOC yet, but definitely plan to. Setting everything up is what kind of stresses me out LOL I am so in love with flower moxie though!! I’m contemplating using them for some things, and then another local florist for other things that I don’t feel creative enough to make. I for sure think I’m going to use them for aisle markers, bridesmaids bouquets and all the boutonnières!! That already saves SO much money!!
