Work out a lot and watch how much you eat in a day. Don't starve yourself, but just monitor it closely. Works for me if I do it.

I'm doing Weight Watchers and am slowly losing weight.

If you can't afford to join a program then I suggest just merely counting calories and slowly switching unhealthy foods to good for you foods like more veggies & fruits. There is not magic pill that can make you lose that much weight.

I also found this great workout program that is similar to P90X but way cheaper called Supreme 90 Day workout and its only like $20.

A bunch of us joined a website called fatsecret.com it has a lot of tools to help you lose weight including a place to log food and exercise. It has a variety of diets to chose from if you need structure or you can use your own. There are forums and challenges, excercises, etc...it's worth checking out and it's free!

Losing weight starts with the little things. Giving up soda, juice and other sugary drinks and stick to water. Speaking of sugar, get rid of it. Only consume sugar from natural sources like fruit (and even that in moderation) instead fill up with veggies and lean proteins. The first few days, even the first week will be rough as your body goes trhough withdrawl from the detox (studies have shown that sugar and other chemicals in processed food to be as addictive as crack).

When I first gave up soda I dropped 15lbs the first month. A lot of the weight we carry around is bloat and water weight. Staying hydrated will help get rid of that. I drink at least 3 CON

Litres of water a day. If you have a hard time drinking water, take baby steps and add crystal light or Mio to your water to give it some flavor. Set reminders for yourself to have consumed a certain amount of water by certain times each day to help spread it out. After awhile your body will start to crave water. I find now that if I'm slacking on my water consumption I feel dehydrated and dried out. I would also recommend a multi-vitamin. I don't want to pry, but are you taking medication for your thyroid? And have you talked to your doctor about your desire to lose weight? I have PCOS and I was working with my endocrinologist and he had me meet with the nutritionist to help find a diet that would work best for me based on my blood work.

But like I said, baby steps are the most important. Drink water. Don't eat out if you can avoid it (fast food is the worst, but restaurants are a close second). If you need to eat out a lot due to work or something there is a great CONT

I am currently using the loseit.com app and it is REALLY helpful for counting calories. Do lots of different exercises, don't just stick to one DVD all the time. Drink LOTS of water.

Book by Calorie King that gives all the nutritional information for pretty much everything. It even had the "fair food" that they served at the Ren Faire. You would be surprised how unhealthy some of the "healthy" items on the restaurant menus are. There are also several apps available if you have a smart phone.

It can help to create an inspiration board for your weight loss (similar to what people do for their wedding) post pictures of what you want, whether its's wedding dresses, a bikini whatever and put them on the fridge. Everytime you open it look at those pictures and say "will this help me reach my goal?" If not don't eat it. Don't starve yourself or use diet pills (unless they are prescribed by your doctor and you are being monitored) there are too many sad stories of people dying young from using them improperly.

Healthy weight loss is 1-2lbs per week so that is totally doable with your timeframe.

I've lost nearly 50lbs in 7 months and I have to say that i didnt successfully lose weight until I realized there was not quick fix. I changed my life and that's whats working.

    Exercise is helpful, YES!

If you aren't changing your eating habits than exercising is not going to do much unless you are spending 4 hours at the gym 7 days a week.

Start small like the ladies have said.

You will feel so much better i promise!

Exercise is important and it's good to switch things up every so often to keep your body challenged. But nutrition is going to be your best friend!

I'd check with your doctor first b/c of your thyroid issue. You might have special calorie, nutrition, or supplement needs that we wouldn't know about. Plus you want to make sure you eat enough. Your body needs fuel to give you the results you want, especially when you're exercising.

The biggest thing that's helped me is planning my food. I now plan meals for the week, shop accordingly, and prep any bulk ingredients when I get home. For example - I'll buy the value pack of chicken and fillet them all at once into correct portion sizes, then marinate or repackage them in the fridge or freezer so they're ready to go when I need them. It takes a few hours on a Sunday, but it's SO worth it. Plus it saves me $ on groceries by planning ahead. I can shop sales in bulk, and I waste a lot less.

Good luck!!! Start small. You can do it!

It's not easy to lose that much weight in a short amount of time. I lost 30 pounds in 6 months but I was unemployed for 4 of those. I would spend 1-2 hours at the gym, was also still enrolled in TKD, and I didn't see a resturant. It's amazing how little you eat when you have no income!

I would recommend joining WW and follow the program to a T. And if you can, hire a personal trainer.

But if you are you ONLY losing for the wedding, it's a HUGE waste of money - especially when the final alteration that you'll require. You'll gain it back just as quickly as you lost it.

Just please please please stay away from diet pills. Diet pills don't work. If they worked, they wouldn't be able to keep them in stock.

I've had a PT since June and started WW two months ago. I've lost 12 pounds. Because losing slowly is hte only way I'll keep it off for the long term.

Whatever you decide to do, make sure it's ok with your pre-existing thyroid condition. Working out is the only true way to get fit and keep fit. Food is 80% of the equation so eat the right things and don't starve yourself. Your body will store fat and you'll lose muscle.

Don't focus so much on the scale. Once you work out, you'll gain muscle and fat will burn. Your weight might not change as much as you'd like but your clothing will definitely fit better. Gaining muscle doesn't mean you'll look like a body builder either...haha!

I'm using DailyBurn.com to track my food and fitness. It's free!

My trainer says to focus on having a high protein diet with very little sugar and carbs. Yes it's tough, but it's a life change (not just for the wedding). This also doesn't mean you have to give up favorites. Focus on foods that aren't processed..it won't be easy at first.

Find a balance, stay motivated and think about your goals and make them realistic.

P.S. - you do NOT need any kind of diet pills. They might be really, really risky for you with your thyroid condition. Plus, you can do this, the healthy way, and get lasting results, and feel 100% proud of it.

Here are some of my first small changes that have become die hard habits. Alone they're no big deal, but add them up and it's a major change:

*switching to black coffee. I have a latte only when I'm craving one.

*substituting nonfat plain greek yogurt for sour cream.

*I use pellegrino to make spritzers when I want white wine. Cuts my calories and consumption in half.

*I try to recreate my favorite restaurant foods at home. Clean Eating magazine has some great makeover recipes.

*fast food is inevitable once in a while. I spent some time researching the best options at my favorite ones like McDonalds and Chipotle, and now if I have to hit a drive-through I know what to order. I don't even look at the menu, I don't want to get tempted!

Good luck! You can do this!

Nutrition is a BIG part of weight loss. I would start off counting calories and then add some exercise in once you get the hang of it. I use Myfitnesspal to stay on track with my daily calorie intake. Good luck! =]

Its a balance of diet and exercise and it sounds like you are doing great with the exercise.

In regards to diet you can cut out all soda's and chips (it might be hard at first but will be worth it and if you are willing to cut out alcohol that will also help you not intake empty calories). Those are 2 big calorie foods that we consume without even realizing it. Also try to add more fresh fruits and vegetables instead if you aren't already doing so.

    Also drink plenty of water.

I got injured and was not able to exercise like I use too so I gained some weight. I was given some migraine medicine that limits my food in take and I can't drink soda. So in the long run it helped me loose a lot of weight real fast because I can't eat or drink soda. The real reason why I am saying this is that even with some changes now can help you start loosing weight. Soda or sugars and limit your carbs. Hope that helps because I know the first couple of steps are the hardest. GOOD LUCK..

Write notes for yourself around your house for encouragement. It helps!

I've lost almost 50 pounds on Weight Watchers. I lost 30 of that in the first 4 months. I just worked out, stayed within my points, and drank nothing but water.
