How did he propose?

So I know my proposal was something I’ll never forget. I want to hear other proposal stories? I just think they’re super cute and make me happy.

The scene: we're visiting his mom in North Carolina and he suggests going up to Pretty Place Chapel. I have my suspicions but 2 hours in nothing's happened until this:

Him: what if we got married here
Me: Ha! I wish... it's just so much money...
Him: What if I told you it'd be paid for?
Me *looking over my shoulder at him*: What's that supposed to mean? Do you have a secret stash of $1,500 I don't know about lol
Him: Well... wouldn't it be great if we got married the same place we were engaged? *nods his head forward, I turn my head and lo and behold there's the ring in front of my face*
    *gasping and hugging ensues*
His mom *whisper shouting*: DID SHE SAY YES???

We got engaged on our 6 year anniversary this past August. There's a nature preserve with some trails close to where we live and my FH and I walked a loop on the trail before getting to this place at the top called Sunset Deck (overlooks the hills and just overall a beautiful place). We stopped here to relax before heading out and naturally there were some other people hanging out at the deck. My FH usually just sits for a minute and wants to leave. This time he waited a little longer before he asked if I wanted to head out. I said sure and we headed out in his truck.

Once we left the preserve, FH turned into the next neighborhood to just "check it out" and drove into what looked like an abandoned development with lots of little streets but no buildings. At some point, he just stops at the top of this little hill in the middle of nowhere and gets out of the truck because "something is wrong with it" and asks me to come out and help him. I come around the truck and he is on his knee with a beautiful wooden box he made for me with the ring. Smiley smile

His original plan didn't go the way he wanted but honestly I feel like this was more like him and loved knowing that it was our special moment alone. Smiley smile

He took up to the top of my favorite mountain in Acadia National Park and did it! We both love hiking and national parks are a HUGE part of our lives so it was perfect. Now we’re taking a month to road trip across the country and stop at a bunch of parks on the way and ending it with our wedding in Joshua tree!

I'll start by saying my husband and I are not very outdoorsy. He had mentioned earlier in the week that we should start exploring some parks in our area. So we settled on a park for Saturday. He talked about going all week and seemed so excited by it and I kept thinking to myself it's just a park what's the big deal. That Saturday morning he's up before me, that never happens, and as soon as I start to open my eyes he's saying hurry up and get ready. It was 90 degrees outside and humid so I said I'm just going to throw on some clothes and shower when we get back. He insisted that I shower and put makeup on because we will probably go to lunch too. I did it but didn't want to and complained about it the whole time. We finally got to the park I was thinking to myself why are we doing this I'm melting when he said let's sit for awhile. We sat on a bench on a wooded trail and talked forever when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I guess my answer was I love you and I kissed him, he had to ask me again and of course I said yes.

Our proposal story starts with us taking our first flight ever with 18 of our friends and family to get on our very first cruise out of the country. Being that it was our first cruise we wanted to experience all they had to offer one of the ways was the entertainment shows. During them they always asked for volunteers to participate from the crowd and when they did they win some sort of prize, I kept trying to get him to volunteer with me but he wouldn't. So one the last night of the cruise we received a note under our door that stated we had reserved seating to that nights show called love and marriage because we came with a large party of 10. So sitting front at the show with all our friends and family and I'm a little distant because they only asked for married couples to volunteer, through the show I jokingly say if you would just put a ring on it we could be up there right now lol. As the show is coming to an end they ask for one more couple that does not have to get married and we get picked! Up on stage we introduce ourselves and she hands him the mic that's when he proposed!!! I got the best prize on the stage I would say

We went on a cruise with his parents (as a college graduation gift) and it was captains night the second night out. We were all dressed up and after dinner we went to the top deck to take photos.

It was really cold and I was shaking. He called me over and asked me if I was really that cold to be shaking like that and I said yes I am so let's hurry this up. He looked at me and said maybe this will warm you up.

That's when he got down on one knee. His dad was actually recording the whole thing but the video came out so dark 😔

FH proposed to me at my childhood softball field (home away from home for many, many years). My family was there as my niece had a softball game! Here’s a photo my brother in law took.

My FH and I went on a trip to Pictured Rock (UP Michigan). He had planned beforehand to propose on a 10 mile hike, but that almost got ruined because I severely sprained my ankle 4 days before. It was so swollen and bruised and I could barely walk. I was really hoping (but had no hints) that he would propose during the trip so I tried to get it healed as fast as possible and did the 10 mile hike. It actually didn’t even hurt until the next day lol and I’m so glad I pushed through that hike because he proposed on top of a cliff overlooking Lake Superior 6 miles into our hike. The ring was sitting in a golden snitch which was completely perfect for us because we had a huge Harry Potter marathon the first time we really spent time together. I couldn’t have asked for anything more fitting for our proposal!

My guy secretly asked my parents three months before he proposed. Smiley winking He took me on a trip to NYC in December 2016. He proposed to me at dinner at an elegant restaurant that rotated so you could see all of NYC. After dinner, he took me to Carnegie Hall for a concert. The next morning we celebrated over brunch at the Rainbow Room and then took me on a carriage ride through Central Park. It was so magical. I'll never forget it.

My future husband and I have been together since we were 15. During our time in high school, we would go to the same park day in and day out. We would talk about life, do our homework, and hang out at the picnic bench just killing time as high schoolers do. Last December he asked if I wanted to go on a pokewalk ( Pokemon Go and walk lol we are nerds). I at first did not, but soon agreed to go. We had gone to the park before for walks and such after we graduated. This time was different. We walked around and soon got to the bench where we spent our days near the playground I carved our names into. Then, he got down on one knee and proposed. It was so simple, but the location meant so much to me and is one of the foundations of our relationship. I, of course, cried (even though I had a hunch it was coming after dropping hints of wanting to get married). Not many people find the person they are destined to be with at the tender age of 15, but I was one of the lucky ones. He makes me laugh and smile every single day. Sure, it isn't all sunshine, but we always get through the storm. Ugh. I could gush about him all night if I could. I'll just see my way out lol.

So we met through the car world/car meets and turned into best friends who made fun of each others cars. So as a proposal he had all of our motorcycle friends and one of our friends who has a ridiculously powerful corvette to come and do a huge burnout while he popped the question. My best friend drove 6 hours that day to come see me say yes, my mom came, second family came, our friends were all there and we went and celebrated with half price appetizers at Applebees. It wasn't most girls dream proposals, but honestly, wouldn't have had it any other way. It was so cool and fitting for our relationship . Not going to lie, I was super embarrassed because I didn't notice him on his knee for a solid 7 seconds because I was recording the burnouts and obviously was not expecting a proposal right then and there.

The snitch is by far the cutest thing for Potter heads. And that ring is so beautiful! Also the setting is GORGEOUS!

I never officially said yes lol I just kinda cried and kissed him then hugged him for like 3 minutes because I was trying not to cry off mascara. And I was also sweating profusely because we're in Florida and it's a million degrees. But I love that whole thing. Woodsy areas, to me, have always been more romantic than beaches.

He never actually proposed. His mom just started introuducing me as her daughter in law, long before me and FH decided to get married. Eventually he started introducing me as his Fiancee and vise versa. Eventually we got me a ring, and now we're planning our wedding
