How did he propose?!

My FH and I were out hiking. We always have a little competition to see who can find the most critters. So he bent down over a big rock saying "Woah, look at this!" So of course I ran over and had my head buried under this rock and I couldn't find anything. Then I heard him say "Oh wait, I already caught it" so I turned around and he was down on his knee with the ring. It was so us, and so perfect.

Planned an entire date night. Started with a new outfit (dress & shoes), dance lessons, nice dinner, drinks and then we went up to a historic part of campus that we used to go to when we were dating (where we had our first kiss). He proposed with my mothers ring (she passed away a couple years ago). I did not believe him at all, I thought he was joking. I said no, this can't be real, there is no photographer (I had always joked that I wanted a photographer to catch the moment). Then he points out into the woods and says, "Meet my friend Brian." Then I lost it. We then went to my favorite line dancing bar, where all our friends and family were waiting (but had no idea for what)!!

I had NO clue at all. The date night didn't even throw me off and he didn't act any differently!!

FH took me back to where we were first met in person after being introduced by a mutual friend. It was a street fair and our mutual friend and her husband and daughter were there and my parents were there. My friend had wanted pictures of her little family since it was her daughter's first time at the street fair. So we were taking all kinds of pictures and then when they went to take a picture of just the two of us my friend counted 1, 2, 3 to take the picture and FH got down on one knee and proposed. We have a video too because my friend's husband was pretending to play games while waiting for us to finish taking pictures but he was actually recording.

We were playing golf and he put the ring box in the hole when I wasn't looking. He wanted to do it there because joining our club was the first commitment we made together. He had hired a photographer and a town car that took us to a resort where we had a spa day and private dining room for dinner. The next day we had breakfast in bed and massages.

On our anniversary, my FH gave me a card saying he was taking us on a little weekend trip to the mountains at the end of July (right before I had to go back to work-I work at a high school). For the trip, he had booked a room at the historic Hotel Colorado, which was really beautiful, and he planned for us to go hiking at Rifle Falls the next day. The hike was absolutely magnificent, with 3 cascading waterfalls and a beautiful hiking trail. We hiked around for about an hour, and once we came to the end before we headed back to the car, he asked if I'd like to go back up behind the waterfall where there was a bench and it was nice and cool so we could rest before heading back. When we got up there I told him that this was the best anniversary present ever. He said, "Are you sure about that? Remember, there is still one more part to your gift." And with that he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.

My family has property in Florida and my FH suggested we go to disney world right after the new year. He planned an incredible day. Horse drawn carriage ride through our neighborhood. A limo to one of the resorts then the biggest shock. He rented a yacht to have dinner on the lake in front of the Magic Kingdom. He planned the dinner to be things we ate most while dating. All our favorite beer and wine. Just as dessert started he gave me a book he made for us to fill with memories of our trip together. The first page was written to me to

tell me how much he loved me and the second page was him asking "will you marry me?" I looked up from the book and he was down on one knee. Right after fireworks started, the staff gave me roses and popped the champagne! It literally was surreal and the best day of my life.

FH planned sort of a scavenger hunt, kind of. I was not surprised- I knew the proposal was coming. But I didn't know for sure the day! So I was out shopping with my sister and mom, when my DH showed up at the store we were at with a few roses and asked me to come with him. We went and got in his car, and went to a lot of places that were important to us/our relationship. We went to our high school where we became friends & a bunch of our friends were waiting there with roses, then we went to our favorite restaurant- more family, more roses, repeated with other favorite places. Our church, our favorite movie theater, and finally we went to one of our favorite spots which is a little used bookstore. The ring was hidden in one of my favorite books from when I was a kid and I had to find it on the shelf. I'm a high school English teacher, so the bookstore was the perfect place After the proposal we went back to a family members house & had a small engagement party. Our family & friends each got us a copy of their favorite love story and wrote a note to us inside the books.

He put a lot of effort into it & it was really sweet!

We had just bought a house and finished moving in. We were hosting our house warming on 4th of Jul last year, and had all our friends over. I had told him once that if somebody proposed in front of a crowd that it was rude because of all the pressure on the lady... So he waited until everyone was gone. It was us, the kids, and my BiL. We were shooting off fire works, and I had just lit the last one when he tried to pull me away. Totally unaware of what he was trying to do, I told him I wanted to watch the fireworks. I remember him giving a HUGE sigh, and then he turned and got on one knee and proposed! I was shocked, I mean, I thought it was coming since we bought a house, but I didn't really expect it.

Valentine's Day took me to brunch by the Brooklyn bridge to a nice restaurant

Made reservations before hand which I though was impressive on his part but didn't think anything of it lol

The we walked by the river because I love looking at the city

He pretended to propose by tying his shoe but then he said it wasn't a joke... just as he about to say something cute a crowd of our friends ran out, with one of them on the ground (she tripped) spraying champagne everywhere... a little too early but the moment was priceless

I actually proposed to my FH with the help of this little guy . FH had just come home home from a 2 week trip home to see his parents and when I picked him up from the airport and we got home our little buddy was waiting in his Hawaiian shirt and heart shaped tag to help me ask him.

He attached a note to our dog's collar that said mommy will you marry daddy?

We bought a house June 2015 and when the house was completely empty minus some chairs and paint cans we would dance around randomly to kind of have fun and take a break from painting everything. Also there is this big beautiful maple tree that is between the house and the garage that we absolutely love. Anyways, we were coming home from running errands and I really had to go to the bathroom but FH was like hey lets dance under the tree. I was like, um I really have to pee, and he's like no come on you can wait and he was pulling on my arm. So I agreed to dance around with him and he started telling me how much he loved me and how I was his best friend and all of a sudden he went down on one knee underneath that maple tree. I just started crying. It was honestly one of the happiest moments of my life.

He took me out to dinner, which was normal. And he let me go upstairs and immediately put PJs and my bathrobe on when we got home, which was also normal. And then he said a bunch of stuff that I, for the life of me, can't remember because I was in shock. And I screamed no at him a bunch of times (also because of shock). He jokes even now that he isn't sure we are technically married since I never said yes to the engagement. lol

FH brought me back to the beach where we initially became a couple and said, " this place is already special to us, and I'd like it to be even more so." Then he kneeled down and proposed! It was also one of the coldest days in winter and we were freezing-- but it was such a special moment I wouldn't have it any other way.

Mine ring was buried in the toe of my Xmas stocking. I was dying when I realized that for weeks I had been passing by my engagement ring with no idea it was just hanging on the wall!

We are big hikers, so we were hiking in Olympic National Park when he decided to go explore the river above Sol Duc Falls. We were just walking on the rocks when he popped down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I knew the proposal was coming, but I was still so excited. Afterwards we went and soaked in the natural hot spring pools.

We took a trip out to Shanghai in May 2015. On May 19th, we took an early train ride out to Hangzhou, the capital and largest city of Zhejiang Province in Eastern China. After exploring the city and a few islands during the day, we decided to take a relaxing and romantic boat ride over the West Lake. This is when FH got down on one knee and proposed. Happily with some tears, I said yes! At the moment, FH used an origami ring he made from a $100 bill. On the ride back in we were surprised & greeted with a water show (nothing pre-planned, the water show goes off every 30 min). After, to keep up with the Japanese theme we ate sushi at an all-you-can-eat sushi, sake & beer restaurant. It was a perfect and beautiful day for us. Too busy celebrating, we almost missed our train back to Shanghai. Like a scene from a movie, we both began running frantically, jumping from a taxi to the metro-link and eventually made our way to the train station, just in the nick of time to board the last train out of Hangzhou to Shanghai. It is definitely a night we both will never forget. ?
