How did he propose?

Mine proposed while we were on a hike in Yellowstone by Artist Point waterfall. His family was there and able to take pictures and video. My profile picture is the moment he asked.

My FH hid my ring, told me he had a gift, and made me play the hot or cold game. I was irritated because it took me almost 20 minutes to find the ring box, but when I did, it was a HUGE surprise.

For us, it was just right. We play with each other everyday. So it couldn't have gotten any better than that.

At the ice castles in my favorite place on earth, the White Mountains in NH! We're getting married there now

He took me on an open cockpit biplane ride (plane was from the 1930's) over the beach in San Diego and once we got off the plane he proposed.

It was a Friday- I was working late. He comes home and starts talking about eating dinner downtown (Pittsburgh) and I was like.. "what? No. I'm still working then I need to shower. Let's just go tomorrow.." FH gets visibly anxious.. and then I see him cancel reservations on his phone so I was like. "I'll get dressed and we can go eat somewhere local" so we ate sushi and then he proposed to me in the car. Haha. I ruined whatever the original plan was. Eyy they can't all be fairytales, right?

@KristinM, I would encourage you to reword the post to make it gender neutral. The ladies can propose too, and we have many same-sex couples on here as well!

@FMC- My FH always says that if something goes slightly wrong that it means things are going to end perfectly. I was dealing with some pain the day that we got engaged and almost didn't go on the hike. I am definitely glad that I did though!

We were in the Bahamas on a cruise for our 6 year anniversary. We were at one of the ports (Nassau) and after a long day of drinking and exploring the town, we were walking back to the ship. He took a slight detour to a little gazebo that overlooked the bay. I jokingly said "you're a pain in my ass" and followed him to the gazebo. Then he got down on one knee and proposed!

He came out of the bathroom in our new apartment, was fidgeting with "something" in his pocket, obviously the ring... and said "Hey, you might wanna come here for a second." And I got up, and he got down on his knee. It was sweet and personal to me. I didn't want a big show, I'm a super intimate person, so it meant so much that he didn't do it in front of a crowd, just my preference. I couldn't be happier.

We were visiting my dad in New Jersey for Thanksgiving. We went to the beach on Black Friday and he proposed to me there in front of my dad and stepmom. Although my stepmom got distracted and missed the whole thing. Lol

He put the ring in our nieces puzzle box and I was supposed to help them. It never came out of the box,he came over and flipped it over and said there. Now will you marry me.

Hahaha well....

We spent the whole day together. He asked if I wanted to go to dinner and I said sure. In the middle of playing his videogame he gets up, puts shoes on and says I'll be back later. He calls me an hour later, says him and his best friend are out fishing and drinking and won't be home anytime soon and to have fun alone. I asked what about dinner? He said I don't care I'm drinking bye. Then his best friends wife calls and says "have you heard from them? My hubby says hes fishing..but all his fishing gear is in the garage. Hes lying theyre not fishing. Im coming to get you.".. In the meantime my mom calls telling me to look around my home for her "sunglasses". FH's friend's wife comes racing into my driveway yelling "GET IN WE ARE HUNTING THEM DOWN".. I get pulled into her car. Shes driving purposely getting lost and is trying to make me get mad at FH. She says "arent you mad he didnt come home? Im furious you should be too. We are going to the observation tower on the ocean and climbing to the top. If they are there we will make them come home....".

I climb about 10 flights of stairs to the very top at sunset, and by this time I'm SUPER mad I started cussing. I get to the top to look out at the water and I see a photographer, videographer, and FH on his knee with a ringbox on the top deck. (My profanities were all on video by this point...I was on video the entire time)... It was all staged and everyone (mom, FHs friend and friends wife, and everyone at the observation tower) were all in on it. The whole point was to make me mad enough to go find him....lol.... Everyone that had tried making me more angry and were secretly helping FH were all at the bottom of the dock waiting. Very special and a whole bunch of people had to coordinate this at just the right time.

He basically threw a pokeball at me with my ring inside.

My FH brings me coffee in bed every morning. The morning he proposed, he brought me a different mug than usual. I saw the "Good morning, Beautiful" on it and thought, "Oh that's sweet!" But didn't think anything else about it. So, we sat in bed and watched TV while I enjoyed my coffee. When I got to the bottom and saw the message, he showed me the ring, said some super sweet stuff and asked if I'd be his wife. Poor guy has the patience of a saint because I took forever to drink my coffee that morning, completely oblivious to the fact that he was proposing.

At the top of a mountain we hiked up. It was about 90* out, we forgot water, and we were both overly sweaty. I had a suspicion that he was planning to propose once we reached the top so I pushed through the obstacles we had inadvertently created. He asked me after we had been sitting for awhile, talking and enjoying the gorgeous view of the Arkansas River. The sun was just beginning to set. I was thrilled despite being sweaty, hot, and flushed. Funny enough, I wasn't as bothered by the heat and lack of water on the hike back down. I just kept stopping every moment that my hand touched another surface to make sure the ring was okay. It took me about a month to stop checking the ring every time I snagged it on something soft or lightly brushed it against a hard surface. Haha.

I absolutely love Christmas. It's one of my favorite things and I had been wanting to go see Christmas lights. I suggested going locally, but FH insisted we go out to Chicago with his best friend and girlfriend. At first I was irritated because FH wanted to go to an expensive dinner and get a hotel, but I went along with it. We went to the zoo and saw the lights and took tons of pictures. At the very end, there was a row candy cane lights. We went to take a picture and he spun me around to face him and he got down and proposed. It was perfect. The people around us cheered and of course I cried.

We were on vacation in CO. We spent the day sight seeing in CO Springs, he chose our final stop, Garden of the God's to get down on one knee. He thanked me for a beautiful vacation and I turned to find him on his knee with a ring, it was perfect!
