How did he propose?

His original proposal was supposed to be at the Arch, which didn't work out because:

1. Construction

2. Freak rainstorm that knocked over a porta potty

3. Ron Jeremy and an unsuccessful attempt to stage a protest for the legalization of weed

As much mileage as we would have gotten out of a proposal story that involved an adult film star, we got engaged later that evening at a lovely greenhouse (where another wedding was actually happening. We consider that a good omen.).

He suggested we go to our favorite beach, and I didn't really think anything of it, he said his butt her like 10 times on the way (the ring box was in his back pocket), once we got there we were sitting on this little deck thing they have there and he kept complimenting me and saying all these sweet things, and he goes to get down on one knee and I roll my eyes at him because he always teased me like that! And then he pulls out this blue box and says "so are you gonna marry me or what?" It was intimate and personal and just like him to do something like that, and obviously I cried.

After church on Sunday first day of the year, kids knew before me lol

We are not a romantic couple at all. I love reading all of these proposals.

My FH was getting ready to take a shower but I had to go to the bathroom first so I ran up the steps. By the time I was done he was outside the door stooped on the steps. I called him a creeper and accused him of looking under the bathroom door at me. He pulled the ring box out and asked me to marry him.

FH took me on a surprise trip to Europe! He had been planning this for months. A few months into his planning (I only know this because when it all happened I asked how long he had been planning) I started getting one clue each week about where we were going, maybe what we were doing, what we would see, way of transport, passport, etc. About a week before we left he told me Europe but didn't say where. I didn't find out where we were going until we were at the airport and I had my boarding pass in hand! Greece was the first stop! We stayed in Athens for 2 days and then over to SANTORINI!!! He totally had me think we weren't going there! Again I didn't find that out until the morning of us getting on the ferry! He proposed that night at our hotels restaurant area. He had a photographer lined up. We went for drinks beforehand (that was his way of getting me there). I was being patient waiting for my drink while he was getting antsy wanting me to go check out a private area because the view is beautiful! Now it all makes sense . About 10 minutes later I get my drink and we head down to that spot! The photographer said he was part of the hotel and wanted to take a picture.. it literally went right over my head. Next thing I know he dropped to one knee, said a bunch of sweet things (that I don't remember because I was so shocked!) and asked me to marry him! We then had the photographer to go around Oia and take engagement pictures! After Greece we went to Italy!

It was our 3 year anniversary. It wasn't on a mountain or in a crowd. We didn't have photographer. It was simple and it was private, but it was absolutely perfect. On our anniversary, in our first home, in the middle of our dining room right after eating some take out from our favorite restaurant, with our first dog together right by his side. It was a pretty normal setting.. this is our life and he asked me to spend it with him for the rest of our days. It was very intimate and sweet and absolutely perfect. I cried like a baby. Hahah Every couple is different and every person values something different. For us, this is was our every day life, our reality and our fairy tale. I love reading all of these proposal stories! I just graduated college and moved 10 hours away from home to be with FH as he was completing his masters. It was a Monday and we were just about to go meet up with his friends that I never met and he started acting weird and then I saw his eyes get all red and watery as he came out of our bedroom and I immediately knew what was going to happen. I started sobbing and I don't even know what he said! It happened in our dining room which was perfect cause I was a mess. He then told me he had been carrying the ring in his pocket and was going to propose after my graduation ceremony!

At the Georgia Aquarium!! Otters an Belugas are like my spirit animals so he took me on a behind the scene tour of the aquarium which finished at the coral reef exhibit. There was a shell with will you marry me written on it. It was seriously the best engagement I could ever think of! Then after the engagement we got to meet some otters, which in hind sight wasn't as awesome as the engagement but was still a great experience. It was perfect!

My FH insisted one day that we go to the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix to take nice pictures because we didn't have a ton and he loves the saguaros. I said okay, what day? He said Sunday. I was immediately suspicious because this was in November and normally Sundays are strictly football for him during the season. He convinced me that his company had given him free tickets and that was the last day they could be used, so I said okay (even though I still thought it was weird he cared so much about going when he'd never expressed any interest before). The whole ride there he kept staring at me and smiling. When we got there he asked which trail was the most scenic and was on the hunt for the best picture spot. When we finally found a spot he liked the best he ran off to find someone to take out pictures. He found a group of Canadian tourists and had them take them. We took one together and as they were taking a second he got down on one knee and proposed. The tourists went crazy taking pictures and videos and told us we were going to be famous on Facebook Canada lol. It was so sweet. I don't even remember what he said exactly when he proposed because I mentally blacked out, I was so surprised.

The baseball stadium in Philly has always been my FH's favorite spot in the city, and we go to a few games every year. We had planned to go for July 4th, but he had other plans as well!

During the 7th inning stretch we walked up to higher point in the stadium that looks over the skyline. He mentioned it was "about damn time" and got down on one knee.

I'm so grateful he had friends to capture the moment!

We went to Universal in Orlando (I am a huge Harry Potter fan and we have been there multiple times) and I was avoiding HP World the entire time because it was my parent's first time there and wanted the moment they saw it be super special because I am a nerd. So we get there and there is a ride in the castle that makes you go upside down kind of and all this other jolting. Well my mom wanted us to get pictures in front of the castle but my brother's gf and I was like no we wanna ride the ride. The ring was in FH's pocket (I obviously had no idea) and I guess it almost fell out multiple times on the ride (oops lol). So we get off the ride and my mom is all about getting pictures in front of Hogwarts. My brother's gf and I were like okay just do the four of us (it is just me and my brother) so we can go do other stuff, but my mom lost her mind and told us no. So my brother and his gf went first. Then FH and I went up there and got pictures. Then I started to walk away and he grabbed my hand to pull me back. He started getting down on one knee and I thought he was joking so I said to him "don't be a fucking asshole" and then I saw the ring box and burst into tears. So I kind of almost ruined the whole moment. But my parents said you could just feel the crowd stop and watch as it happened. So that was cool. And we got free fast passes and a bunch of other free things, so that was pretty neat too.

It was my dream proposal. I could not have asked for a better moment with my parents and aunt and uncle and brother and his gf!

My FH asked me when we went on a hike to our favorite spot, I was baby wearing our daughter and he asked if I wanted to stop and sit on one of the benches under a tree for a rest. And so when I sat down he got on one knee and pulled out the ring, said some really sweet things and asked me to marry him. It was super sweet and personal and I was so happy that our daughter was there for it- even strapped to my chest lol

4th of July last year. He insisted on going to see fire works and I was extremely tired after working 3 12 hour shifts (I'm a nurse) our friends joined us and we went to a park to see "fire works" during the grand finales he proposed! I was not expecting it at all. I can't wait to marry him by the beach next year in Dominican Republic!

On our vacation on a boat in San Francisco once we got under the bridge he proposed.

We were on vacation in Costa Rica (my favorite place in the world!) and first day we went to the hanging bridges in the rainforest. He insisted we go first on a suspended bridge so we could get a picture - that should've been my first clue, he NEVER wants to take pictures. We paused in the middle of a bridge for the picture, I went to reach for the phone from our friend and he got on one knee - I thought he dropped something, it totally didn't even register!! Our friends got it on video, you can see exactly when it hit me

My FH took me to a luau in Hawaii. Thought i was winning a grand prize trip ended up being my FH proposing to me in front of entire luau

It was Christmas morning and we had finished opening the gifts (he got me Marquee letters of our initials C&L) and he was playing music on the Bluetooth speaker I had gotten him, then he called me and told me I missed a gift under the tree and that his niece would get it for me, so I sat on the couch and the music shifted from Christmas music to Matrimony. Then his nieces came out of the room carrying an H and asked me if I would be her aunt. Then he came and got down one one knee and asked me to marry him in front of his entire family.
