How did he/she propose? Also, show off your rings!

Honestly, there was no grand gesture, special dinner, him on one knee. We've talked about marriage here and there for a few months, then he was just like "look, no one else will tolerate me the way you do, and we know we want to spend the rest of our lives together. Let's get married." And that was that, lol. I don't have an engagement ring to show, as we're spending all our money on the wedding, and we have a super small budget. We'll get wedding rings for the ceremony, and one day down the road he'll get me a nice engagement ring. I don't mind, all I care about is marrying my best friend 😊

So he randomly decided to book a trip to Italy, so it was a dead giveaway he was going to propose there, I just didn’t know when or how. We were in our second city, Florence, and we were on the rooftop of our hotel (rooftop lounge) and he asked me to go grab something from our room. At first I said no but he asked a couple more times and it hit me what he was trying to do. So I went down to our room brushed my hair and fixed my clothes quick and went back up and he was down on one knee. Thankfully we paid extra on our phone bills that month so we got to FaceTime and call everyone right away.

I had always secretly hoped that he'd propose during/after a belt test for karate. On Dec 2nd I let him sleep in till 30 minutes before our belt test since he was working 3rd shift and I wanted him to have all his energy for the test. He was super annoyed that I didn't wake him up earlier to take a shower and shave. I was confused. We are gonna get hella sweaty at the test and who cares if you shave. We finish the test and he hurt his knee during kumite(fighting). My phone was with someone else so they could take pictures during the test for me since we were testing together. After the test we were just hanging out and he went down on a knee. I assumed he was being dramatic because he hurt his knee because he's like that lol. So there I am hands on my hips all like come on get up I want to go home and shower. Next thing I know the ring comes out! I had NO idea! And he had zero idea that I secretly hoped he'd propose after a test because I told zero people about it lol.

Around my birthday and our 3rd anniversary, he planned dinner in OKC at the top of the Devon tower, which is the tallest building in the city. I knew he was probably going to propose, the restaurant was a lot nicer than anything we usually do, but I didn't want to expect it (LOL). We had our own private room that overlooked the city and as we were looking out the windows he got down and proposed! To top it off, he had my parents and sister waiting outside, which made it that much more special!

We got engaged the last day of our cruise in April. To say that I had been expecting it in an understatement. We've been together 7yrs and the past 3ish years talked about it. Then I'd say the past year it was something we always talked about, I even asked to go to town hall, he said no. We had a few "moments" throughout the year where he could have done it and never did, I hoped he was doing it on the cruise and of course he had to do it the last night keeping me on my toes. He gave a little speech about the perfect vacation and girl and I mocked him. Then he said it again and got down on a knee. We both were overcome with emotion we don't even remember if I said yes or anything haha.

Last July FH and I planned a house warming party. So we invited all of our family and friends. Everyone was outside but right before FH was going to propose outside it started to rain, so everyone got into our little house and he started talking and got down on one knee and proposed in the middle of our house with everyone we love around. After I said yes my mom whipped out some champagne and we toasted! It was perfect!

No pomp and circumstance here, either. FH and I began our relationship knowing that marriage was the only eventuality that made sense in order for a relationship to even begin. On our first date, we were already talking about expectations. We both have children (seven, between us). FH told me from the start that we were too old to be calling each other “boyfriend” and “girlfriend” (we're both in our 40's). On our third date, he asked me to be exclusive…but in his own practical way (“I don’t want to be spreading myself around; so what are we doing??”).

Fast forward to March. I was lying on the bed, working on my laptop. He was rummaging around, about to change his close, and packing up his bag to get ready to leave (we live about an hour apart). He was kneeling on the floor, going through his pants pockets (he wasn’t wearing his pants!); I wasn’t paying him a bit of attention. Then he says, “so, listen; what do you think of this?”, and he pulls out a ring. I look at it, and say; “it’s pretty.” I was stunned, and completely unsure of where this was going. I said, “where did you get this?” He replied, “I had it made.” My response: “how long did that take?” Him: “a couple of months; it’s a set…see?” and pulls out the wedding band. Still, I’m like…”I’m not sure if I get it…” He urges me to try it on, then asks if I’m surprised. I’m still sitting there thinking, “are we engaged?!?!?” He’s sitting there looking so proud of what he just did.

I asked him later why he just whipped out a ring like that. He told me he really wanted to know if I liked the ring. I asked what he would have done if I hadn’t; he said, “I’d get another ring!” Ah…my practical man…

I still can’t help but laugh over that; also, love him more for it. That whole thing was just so…him!

We had been best friends for a year before we started dating, and it seems that, looking back on, we both knew early on that we would probably end up marrying each other. Fast forward to our 3 year anniversary and we're finally visiting door county. He took me to his favorite stop from when he used to go with his parents, which happened to be a beautiful park on edge of the lake. He asked if I wanted my present and I said sure, but I was certain he was going to give me a lego set haha! But I open my eyes, and he's on his knee with a small ring box.

I loved it because we got to have that moment to ourselves in such a beautiful place. And we walked around the park for a few hours after that before we even called anyone.

I am a model and I modeled all throughout my life, and this specific time I was shooting for a senior high school photos for a commercial. It was around Valentine’s Day so they wanted young couples, and I volunteered me and my FH. So I told him and he went with it. I didn’t know he set it all up with my boss/photographer, and already asked my mom and his parents. On the way to the location somehow the ring slipped out in front of me, but I’m so oblivious I didn’t know! Anyways we got there and are doing the shoot, it was so fun! Then in one picture they asked me to turn and look at the mountains as he looks at me from behind. I had no idea that he was actually going down on one knee, we were so young, and I wasn’t expecting it since I was still in high school. Then they told me to turn around, and I feel bad now, but I laughed because I thought it was such a good pose for Valentine’s Day, then I realized it was real when I saw the ring, and our parents taking pictures, and the photographer gave him time to talk. Now a year and 4 months later, I will be getting married in 12 days!

April 2, 2017.. 4 days after me & my fiancé just closed on our first house, he told me he was taking me out that weekend & I should pamper myself since we could not spend any money during our closing process. I got my nails done & did my hair, we did a couple of sweet things on Saturday but he told me to clear my whole schedule for Sunday. We started that day with brunch at the Durham Tobacco Road House Cafe where we over looked the baseball field it was beautiful but cold (due to North Carolina’s bipolar weather 😒). After that he took me to Duke Gardens a place I mentioned before would be a great place to get proposed to because the scenery. We walked around for a couple hours talking about our future together but I did get a little annoyed because he was active on his phone than usual. We made it to the red bridge in the middle of the park & he told me to look out a certain direction to take a selfie, I did that & saw across the lake members from both our families holding up signs saying “Will You Marry Me ??” & the rest was history. We ended up taking our engagement pics in the same location.

We have been together 7 years now. Been engaged nearly 2 1/2 years. He proposed at Disneyland. Didn’t get on one knee (he has bad knees) even though a minute wouldn’t have killed him 😂😉 my ringwas too big it was a 7 so I had to wear it on a necklace until I could get it resized. It’s a 3.75 now. He wants to get me one of the Disney princess rings before the wedding. This is my current ring. I still like it but he doesn’t and it wasn’t the original ring he picked out.

FH and I had been talking about marriage for about a year and I was practically begging for him to propose. His mom and sister came into town for early Christmas and I had told him how awesome it would be for him to propose while they were there. After Christmas dinner we went out to look at Christmas lights and I got a text from my Dad asking to come look at his because he did something ‘special’. I told everyone I was sorry if it was lame but I’m super close with my dad and would never say no so we went. We get there and there are no lights in the front yard and I was so confused! Then we walk into the back yard and there are lights everywhere like a winter wonderland. My fh then flips a light on (which I missed because my nephew popped outta no where) and my dad had to physically turn my head to make me see the fence that said Will You Marry Me? Screamed at the top of my lungs and was balling so hard I was hyperventilating 😂. Then I turn around and my entire family and his are there. Seriously best night of my life.

My FH is not huge on pomp and circumstance however he did have a little in his proposal. This was the first time we had ever had my birthday off together since we'd been dating. So I knew it was going to be a great day, and honestly him proposing was the last thing I thought was going to happen as I had hoped many times and on many vacations he'd propose. He cooked me breakfast and then we went to the local zoo and walked around the park. Came home and picked up our puppies and took them to his parents house and went to a cool little restaurant and had the most delicious lunch. Went and picked up the girls and went home. He had told me.he was having his parents and my grandparents over for dinner so him and his dad made breakfast for dinner. I opened presents and then it was his turn to give me my gift. He had me close my eyes and hold out my hands. He placed a card in my hands and I LOVE getting cards. It was homemade. On the front it said "a simple card" and the inside said "for a simple question" then yes or no with my ring inside (slightly pointing to yes). I was in such shock! I had always imagined it would be privately...just the two of us. I was so happy he included his parents and my grandparents.

FH and I like going to a park to watch the turtles swimming on the lake. On a fine Sunday morning, before we had to go somewhere else, he decided that he wants to go to the park. I thought it was odd but didnt think much of it (FH is very practical, if he needs to go from point A to point B, then hes going straight to point B!)
So we get to our usual turtle-watching spot, I got upset that there weren't any turtles (it was cold, duh!) And FH goes "that's too bad, I was hoping I'd have them as witnesses"
Then he went down on one knee and he gave me the most amazing speech, then he proposed and I cried my eyeballs out -as per FH, I just nodded, but I never said yes 😂
Funny thing is, there were some people watching us on a nearby bench, we thought wed turn around to a round of applause or congratulations, but... Nothing. They all looked away. Boohoo LOL 😂

Long story I was throwing him a surprise birthday party and he planned to propose that night. He walked in all ready to do it and everyone was ther. Whoops. He went down on one knee at the end of the weekend when the last person walked out. We didn’t tell anyone for a day and sat in a ton of candles, watched a movie, are Dairy Queen and cuddled. Oh and I was so excited when I “jumped” him after then proposal we notice we broke the wooden ring box “afterwards” hahahah
