How did it feel walking down the aisle?

Felicia, on October 10, 2014 at 3:55 PM Posted in Married Life 0 39

I've always wondered (and find out next week) what does it feel like to walk down the aisle? What goes through your mind? Did your husband tell you what it was like for him afterwards? Prepare Me!!! lol

I was just trying not to cry and was singing the words to my song "I Choose You". I can't remember much of anything else except that I kept my eyes on him the entire time. Smiley laugh

I was very nervous. I was wondering if anyone can tell by the look on my face. No one said anything. (I guess it was just me)

It was a blur--that's how magical it was for me. Or maybe it was the three glasses of wine I'd chugged in the hours before, not sure.

I do remember thinking, "You better not trip, bitch!" I clung to my dad for dear life. I was walking in sand and hadn't realized how hard that was without looking like an idiot.

I felt like I was floating. I was so happy and excited, I was nearly laughing down the aisle. Seeing so many guests that traveled from all over the country and Canada to be there was awesome. I couldn't see my husbands face so I focused on the loved ones I could see until I got to the front and saw him. I don't remember hearing the music after I started down the aisle but I heard it clearly before my first step. Keep your head up, your flowers down by your waist, and SMILE

I thought I was going to ugly cry because I get so emotional over everything, but to my surprise I didn't cry at all. I was so happy and it felt unreal. I totally agree with Mrs. Mason though..it was a blur.

How were your husbands? Were you happy with they're reactions of you or do you not even think about it at that point?

I totally could not hear the music at all and was annoyed because I thought the pianist didn't change songs for my entrance, but apparently he did and I was just so emotional I didn't know what was going on.

It was very surreal. Cool to look around and make eye contact with the guests when you registered that each was there. my dad made me cry so tears were streaking down the whole time. the aisle at my church is very long so I couldn't see my fiance well until I was halfway down. i was very nervous.

I am praying that he is blown away. I don't wear dresses and I'm not a girly girl. Give me a pair of jeans and a fishing pole and I'm happy! I really want to notice som type of reaction from him. I think he will tear up.... I hope he does. I'm not scared of tripping, I'm worried that I will pass out honestly.

..........I can't even remember. He has such a piercing glare so I was probably avoiding that. I guess he was very solemn about it all, I didn't get a "gasp" or anything. I remember his BM looking at me with a smirk though--he didn't know I could get all fancied up like that. I just remember after my dad gave me away, holding onto DH like an idiot while we both looked at our officiant while she did her thing. Then we said our vows and geez, his eyes hit me like a rock to the head. I almost fainted.

I strongly recommend doing a first look. We didn't and I heavily regret it.

Right as the ceremony started, as the bridesmaids were walking down the aisle, I was hit with every emotion possible. Happy, excited, nervous, anxious, OMG I'M GETTING MARRIED! Combine that with the fact that I hadn't eatten very much. I had been munching on food all day, but it wasn't enough and all the emotions made me feel dizzy and woosy and sick.

So while I was walking down the aisle all my attention was focused on not passing out, not being sick and moving my feet forward.

I really don't remember what my husband looked like at the front of the room or what the look on the faces of my guests were.

Once I was up there and my husband was holding my hands I started to calm down and feel better.

My advice, don't get too worked up about the moment. It's over quickly and the best parts will come after. Whatever happens, good or bad, just go with it and keep going.

It was totally overwhelming!! I was so glad I did a first look because my eyes were just going everywhere. Photographer, guests, my feet to make sure I don't trip... Totally surreal and emotional. Just remember to smile even if you are ugly crying!

I didn't hear the music, I was focused on my husband, and I didn't realize how fast I walked until I saw the video. Walk slowly!

It was so surreal. I really don't remember much from the walk. Once I was up there, standing and looking into DH eyes, those things I remember clearly. But the walk .... I remember nervously starting and then nothing after that.
